Harris EvelynHARRIS, Evelyn 'Eves'  -  Peacefully passed away at her home, Stirling Heights LTCC, with her family at her side on Monday, September 11, 2017, at the age of 97 years.

Survived by her devoted sister Jean Foreman(George) and her beloved brother Dickie Johnally(Merle).

Predeceased by her adopted son John Dryden, her sisters Grace Moulton (Fitz), Daphne Parkin (Byron),        brothers Vincent Johnally (Ainee), George Johnally (Doscelyn), Horace Johnally(Peggy) and by her parents Charles and Adeline Johnally.

She will be lovingly remembered by over 4 generations of more than 40 nieces and nephews who affectionately called her 'Auntie Eves'.

 

Hooper StephenHOOPER, Stephen  -  Passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife, Betty Lou (Goudie) Hooper by his side in his 87th year.

Born in Toronto, the only child of William Francis Hooper and Florence Myra Hooper (Stephens). The family moved to Grimsby, and later St. Catharines where Steve attended school. His last two years of high school were spent at Ridley College, graduating in 1949. He loved attending reunions and being an Old Tiger. After three years as a student–in–accounts for a Chartered Accountant's firm, he decided to go to university.

 

Strauss GraceSTRAUSS, Grace Clara  -  Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, September 11, 2017 in her 92nd year surrounded by her family. She was resident of Chartwell Assisted Living, Elmira.

Survived by her children Judy (James) Weaver, John Strauss, Peggy Ann (Peter) Swainston, Edward 'Ted' (Wanda Carter) Strauss, Deb (Gary) Martin, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters Rita (Ted) Maclean, Glady (Ron) Martin-Berger, Mary Ament and sister-in-law Rita Strauss. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jerome Strauss, daughter-in-law Bonnie Strauss, granddaughter Pam Wiebe, sister Anna Huber, her brothers Rev. Arthur Busch, Jack Busch and parents Charles and Isabella Busch.

 

Penner FrankPENNER, Frank  -  Passed away at his home at Parkwood Mennonite Home on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the age of 90 years. He is now at home with his Lord, reunited with his wife Anne (2010).

Devoted father of Dennis Penner (Brenda) and Karen Penner (Neil Wilson). Cherished grandfather of Derek Penner, Craig Penner (Courtney), L. Denae Penner, Julie Cullaton (Nick), and Rachael Witzke-Prendergast (Steve). Beloved great-grandchildren Cohen, Opal, and Cullen.

Also survived by his sisters Frieda Goertz and Anneliese Kroeker (Menno).  Frank will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Hank and wife Marie and sisters-in-law Leona and Helen and her husband Harry. He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews.

 

Pinchin GeorgePINCHIN, George Anthony  -  Passed away suddenly Monday, September 11, 2017 at the age of 81.

George is predeceased by the love of his life Jean Frances Pinchin (2013).

George leaves behind his sons Steven (Joy) Pinchin, Colin (Donna) Pinchin and his daughter Sandra (Shane) Hebner.

He was a loving Grandad to 7 beautiful Granddaughters Toni (Matt), Colleen (Jeff), Jennifer (Jon), Bailey (Matt), Krystal (Mark), Jessica (Jeremiah) and Kaileigh (Douglas). He is predeceased by his cherished Grandson Drew (1998). George had the pleasure of enjoying 15 Great Grandchildren Aspen, Reagan, Jaxson, Kylee, Leyton, Luke, Lindsay, Owen, Corben, Mae, Benson, Alexis, Emrey and Miah.

 

MAUS, Elizabeth Macintyre  -  Passed peacefully on September 11 at The Wellington in Hamilton after a life of achievement, public service and support and dedication to a large family. She had previously resided at St Elizabeth Village in Hamilton for more than 30 years. She had her 98th birthday in July.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her four sisters, Agnes, Jean, Margaret and Frances and four brothers John, Douglas, Donald and Hugh. She was born at Fairview Farm in Brant county and attended elementary and secondary school in Paris before earning her diploma in Nursing at Toronto General Hospital, her Teaching certificate at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario. 
She was a passionate educator and mentor during her accomplished career with active care and teaching hospitals in Toronto, London, Kitchener Waterloo, Port Colborne, Galt and Hamilton. She rose to become the Director of the Hamilton and District School of Nursing and as administrative head she oversaw the consolidation of regional schools into the current Mohawk College Department of Nursing.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Lena Loree (February 2017).

Dear step-father of Sheree Sotheran (Roy), Loree Primeau (Kevin Wardrop) and Charlene Lloyd (Peter). Loved Grandpa of Matthew Johnson (Desiree), Alexandra Johnson, Jak Loree-Spacek, Luke Loree-Spacek, and step-grandchildren Shawn (Sarah), Matthew (Samantha), Aimee, and great grand-baby Charles.

 

Muqhar ElinMUQHAR, Elin (Dabit)  -  Our beloved mother 'Elin Muqhar' (Helen Mukhar) passed away at her home, surrounded by her family after a brief illness on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 93.

Loving mother of five children of whom two are deceased, Naser Mukhar and Rita Jeraiseh. Elin is survived by her three daughters Doris Bannayan and her family, Nada Ammouri and her family, and Lily Mansour-Nakhleh and her family. 

Elin had 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Hugh was the beloved husband of the late Catharine Mary (Kay) (MacDougall) Nuttall (2010).

He was the loving father of Robert Nuttall of Rochester, NY, Leslie Grosser (Adam) of Victoria, B.C., and Beverly Nuttall of Guelph. Hugh was the proud grandfather of Kristina Elkin (Arsen), Andrew Grosser, and Bodan Nuttall-Licht.

He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Anne Penston of Moncton, New Brunswick.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of over 50 years Charles and loving children David Vallance, Susan Kenny, Peggy (Buddy) Pembleton and Nancy (Sean) Myslik. Cherished grandmother to Kelsea, Kristin, Jayme, Samantha and Cassidy.
