QUAIN, Charmaine  -  It is with profound sadness that the Quain, Piper and Eaton families announce the passing of Charmaine Quain on  Sunday, May 7, 2017. She valiantly battled cancer and her spirit was triumphant.

Charmaine was predeceased by her parents Mildred and Winston Quain, her brother-in-law Lyle Piper, and her nephew Ken Eaton.

Left to celebrate a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sisters, Linda Piper and Diane Quain, her brothers Fred Quain and his wife Debbie Willard-Quain, Ronald Quain and his wife Elizabeth Thuot. Nieces Dianne Eaton, Kimberly Bienvenu and her husband Eric, Stephanie Quain and her husband Stephen Leslie. Nephews Trevor Eaton and his wife Kimberly Eaton, Timothy Quain, Jason Quain, Jonathan Quain and his wife Sandra Zappata, and Eric Gosselin. Great nieces and nephews Jaimie, Cassidy, Jessica, and Samantha Eaton, Victoria Palmer, Jacob Lucas and Rowan Bienvenu.


Lorch RonaldLORCH, Ronald Earl  -  Passed away peacefully at his home in Elmira on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the age of 84 years.

Ron Lorch is lovingly remembered by his brother Rev. Ab Lorch of Kitchener and his nieces and nephews: Sandra (John) Marquardt, Steven (Wendy) Allen, Brian (Rhonda) Lorch, Susan (Bud) McDermott, Nancy (Craig) Robson, Tom (Lee) McKee, Valerie (Paul) McKee, Vicki (Nick) Pereira, Scott (Nicole) McKee, Tracey (Robert) McKee, Cyndie (Rodney) Timpano, Jill (Evan) Lorch, and Stephanie Lorch.

Predeceased by his good friend Ellie Steele and fondly remembered by her family: Marguerite (the late David) Steele, Brian (Pat) Steele, Al (Cheryl) Steele, Ronnie (Mary) Steele, John (Peggy) Steele, Susan (Michael) Bonacci, and Paul Lippert.


Moore PeterMOORE, Peter John  -  It is with deep sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of Peter John Moore on May 7th, 2017.

A wonderful husband, father, brother and Grandad. Peter leaves behind a legacy of his loving wife Jill, three sons: Adam (Angela), David (Kristine),Darren, and grand-children: Holly, Joshua, Hannah, Lauren and brother Stanley.

Peter was born in Wimbledon, England and at age 27 he left for Canada with Jill. Together, they created a new and wonderful life for their three boys. After retiring from a very successful 30 year career at Bell Canada, Peter and Jill built their home on the river in Owen Sound. He spent his time enjoying many walks along the river while watching Salmon, curling, spending time with family and of course, golf.


CORBETT, Doris Elizabeth (nee Buchner)  -  Peacefully passed away with her family by her side at the Stirling Heights Retirement Home on Sunday May 7, 2017 in her 96th year. 

Loving mother to Joyce (Roger) Gourlay, and Carl (Mary) Corbett. Grandma will be sadly missed by her 6 grandkids Rebecca Robertson, Timothy Bowman, Paul (Mandy) Bowman, Ryan (Charlotte) Gourlay, Jeff (Kristin) Barber, and Taylor Corbett. 'Little Grandma' will be fondly remembered by Julia, Paige, Mary, Harlow, Owen, and Hallie.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Paul Corbett (1980), and by her grand daughter Tracey (1989) and her great grandson David in infancy (2010).


Connor GrahamCONNOR, Graham  -  Passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side, on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital at the age of 81. Graham was born in Eccles, Manchester, England and immigrated to Canada January 1966. 

He was predeceased by his wife Brenda (May 7, 2012). 

Deeply missed by his son Chris of Point Clark, daughter Sally (Terry), granddaughter Brianna all of Waterloo, and sister Moira (Doug) of Guelph.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ethel, his brother Maurice, and brother-in-law Barry.


Appell RichardAPPELL, Richard Harold  -  Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, Waterloo on Sunday May 7, 2017 at the age of 86. 

Cherished nephew of Margaret Stockie and uncle of Kathreen Fischer (Joe). 

Richard will be remembered as a kind hearted and faithful friend by Jim Izzard and Andre Barros, and leaves precious memories with all those whose lives he touched.

Loved son of Maria Sousa Fernandes and son-in-law of Agatha and Tony Amorim. Dear brother of Francisco Fernandes, Rosa Pereira, Eusebio Fernandes, Ana Rodrigues, and brother-in-law of Jonathan Amorim. Also remembered and missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Antonio Fernandes. 

Alberto will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. 


LINDHORST, Angela   -  Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Cancer Centre on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the age of 29.

She will be sadly missed by her parents, Bill Lindhorst and Janet Broaders, as well as many friends and family.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Angela will be held at Corbett funeral home, Cambridge on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation being held for an hour prior.


Traversy BobTRAVERSY, Bob  -  At Stratford General Hospital on May 6, 2017, Bob Traversy, 87, passed away following complications after a fall. His beloved wife of over 58 years, Gail (née Stronach), daughters Robin and Nancy, son Bruce, sons-in-law Daniel and Martin and daughter-in-law Cindy were by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents, Isidore A. and Emma Traversy; his brothers, Gene and Arthur; and his sister, Pauline.

Bob was born and spent most of his childhood in Ottawa, relocating to Kingston when his father and older brothers were sent overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War. He began his own military career when he joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1947 at the age of eighteen, and was posted five years later to Korea with the 23rd Engineer Field Squadron for a tour of duty with the U.N. 25th Commonwealth Infantry Brigade.

Predeceased by mother Bridget Dredge and Daugher-in-law Lucia Hinks.


Maher BJMAHER, B.J. (Bryan John Benjamin)  -  Suddenly, as the result of a car accident in Killarney, on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the age of 27 years. Bryan and the usual group from Elmira were at Killarney Provincial Park for the annual Friends of Killarney Park Clean-up Weekend.

Amazing son of Skip and Grace and caring brother of Stacey. Soul mate of Katie Mitchell. Bryan will be lovingly remembered by all his family, the Mitchell family, his partners from Block Three Brewing Company, and his many friends in Ventures, Friends of Killarney Park and the Fire Departments in Woolwich Township.


Lyons RoyLYONS, Roy Grills  -  Passed away peacefully at his home in St Jacobs, on Friday, May 5, 2017, in his 95th year.

Roy was predeceased by his first wife Frances Helena (Cripps) Lyons (1974). Married to his second wife Annie Mary (Richardson) Lyons for 35 years.

Lovingly remembered by his son John and Doris Lyons of Terrace Bay, daughter Marjorie and Jerry Pachniosky of Woodstock, son Charles and Annette Lyons of Greenville, South Carolina, daughter Marion and Larry Pierce of Winterbourne, and son Wallace and Darlene Lyons of St Jacobs. Roy had 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.


Walton GregoryWALTON, Gregory John Albert 'Greg'  -  Passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 5, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

Greg is survived by his three sisters: Frances Walton, Patricia Laurette and Marion and her husband Dale Roeder. Greg was proud to be the uncle of Doug and Amy's daughters, of Pat and Ray's seven children and of Marion and Dale's three children. He was the honourary grandfather to their grand children and to Kiley and Katie Maue, daughters of Greg's best friend Scott Maue and his wife.

Greg was predeceased by his parents Fred and Beatrice Walton, brother Doug Walton and his wife Amy, and by his brother- in-law Ray Laurette.


Litwiller ElizabethLITWILLER, Elizabeth Marie 'Betty'  -  Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo on Friday, May 5, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. She was in her 89th year and was the daughter of Howard & Estella Weber.

Beloved wife of Walter, who predeceased her in 2009.

Betty was the loving mother of Michael (Janice), Kevin (Sandra) and Maureen Litwiller. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Nicole Hruden (James), Christopher Litwiller, Rebecca Bowman (Ken), Joshua Bowman (Lisa), Ruby and Sophie Litwiller as well as her eight great-grandchildren.
