Beloved wife of Shirley. Loving Dad to Robert and Stephen.

Survived by his brother Karl of Germany. Predeceased by his parents Karl and Magdalena and siblings Franz and Hans.

 

McNichol RobertMcNICHOL, Robert (Bob)  -  Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Lisaard House, after a brief illness, on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the age of 75. 

Beloved husband of Karen (nee Stahl). Loving father of Scott and Timothy. Cherished grandpa of Rowan.

Dear brother-in-law of Lois and Danny Martin, Peggy and Barry Lippert, and Helen and Nick Mot. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. 

We all admired his passion for his visual arts, love of aircraft and antique vehicles, for this he inspired many.

 

DeMedeiros ManualDE MEDEIROS, Manuel Tavares  -  Born October 19, 1933 in Rabo De Peixe, San Miguel, Portugal. Died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital at the age of 83. 

Manuel was a son of the late Manuel and Rosa (Ines-Pacheco) Medeiros, and was born in Portugal, but moved to Canada in 1956. 

Beloved husband of Maria Jesus (nee De Aguiar-Amaral) Medeiros. Dear father of Manuel Medeiros, Luis Medeiros and Irene Medeiros. Will be sadly missed by his grandsons, Trevor, Matthew, Cody, Kevin, and Kyle Medeiros. 

 

Sop PeterSOP, Peter  -  At age 83, of Stratford passed away peacefully on July 1, 2017. Peter was born in Bosnia, son of the late Ivan Sop and the former Jela Stefanac.

Beloved best friend to Marlene Zehr for 36 years. Loved father of Anton and Mark (Pam) Sop. Proud grandfather of Mitchell and Parker. Peter will also be missed by Marlene’s children, Murray (Barb) and Larry Zehr.

Also survived by his nephews Jim, John, Paul and Zvonko and sisters-in- law, Danica and Marica. Predeceased by brothers Anton and Marko and sister Katica.

 

Price IanPRICE, Ian  -  (aka 'Papa Price' or 'Chief')  -  At age 59, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday July 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Scarborough, son of the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Smith) Price.

Survived by his true love and best friend Leslie (Chapman) Price. Proud and supportive father of Amanda, Jeffery and Rebecca along with his furry friends Daisy and Rue.

Ian is survived by his sister Heather Billings and husband Dave, his brother Richard Price, brother-in-law Larry Billings and sister-in-law Joan Francis and husband Jim.

 

Hrabluk RuthHRABLUK, Ruth  -  It is with a sad heart that we announce the passage of Ruth Hrabluk, on July 1, 2017. Ruth was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia March 18th, 1922. She moved east to Ajax and later to Toronto where Ruth married and raised her family.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband Sam Hrabluk.

Ruth enjoyed people and always had time for a lengthy chat and to share stories and jokes. Children were very special to Ruth and she enjoyed being a Nanny to several. Ruth will be missed by so many people whose life she touched.

She will always be remembered and forever missed by her children David and daughter in law Stephanie, Dona and son in law Andrew and her grandson Sam who was the light and pride of her life.

 

ROSS, Patricia J.  -  At age 91, passed away June 30, 2017 at Wellington Hospice in Guelph. Pat was born March 18 1926, the daughter of Campbell and Dorothy McConnell.

On September 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Dean S. Ross. They were blessed with four children: Campbell (Lyn) Ross (Grafton WI), Sally (John) Vingoe (Rockwood), Peter (Barbara) Ross (Mississauga) and, Elizabeth (Greg) Walsh (Oshawa). They were further blessed with 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by Dean, her parents and sister, Sally McLarty.

 

Hicks DianeHICKS, Diane Marlene  -  After a lengthy illness, Diane passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2017 at the age of 69.

Diane worked 20 plus years in the textile industry, she loved her cars and horse, Beauty.

Diane was predeceased by her mother Aurelia and father Lorne, brother Lawrence of B.C., sister Joyce and brothers-in-law Percy Tower of N.B. and Hartley Hicks of ON. She has joined them in heaven, while leaving behind brothers Ron (Carol), Danny (Judy) of Cambridge, ON., and Lloyd (Jo-Anne). Sisters Carol and Joan (Harold) of ON. Diane loved all of her nieces and nephews, each and every one.

 

Whitton RobertWHITTON, Robert William  -  Passed away peacefully on Friday June 30, 2017 at Parkwood Mennonite LTC, Waterloo at the age of 95.

Survived by his five children affectionately known as 'The Five Marvelous Pretzels', Lezley Prokop, Paul Leatherbarrow, Elizabeth Whitton, Robin Leatherbarrow, Shelagh Currah; his grandchildren, Vincent, Victor, Joe Nosko; Olivia Whitton; John and Kate Leatherbarrow, and his great-grandchildren Vivian Whitton; Maxim Curry; Milo, Julius, and Remi Caporicci; and a brother Don Whitton.

Remembered for his love of life, his love for the peacefulness and beauty of Northern Ontario and especially his love for his family. Bob enjoyed a long career at the University of Waterloo and was a founding member of the Unitarian Congregation. He will be missed.

 

OBrien FrancisO’BRIEN, Francis (Frank) Hilary  -  With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, Francis Hilary O’Brien on June 30, 2017. 

Born and raised in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Frank served with the RCAF during WWII, where, in England, he met his future bride, our mother, Iris Mottram (predeceased, 1992). Returning to Canada and eventually settling in Guelph, Ontario, in 1959, Iris and Frank enjoyed a long and happy marriage raising their 8 children, Maureen (Charlie), Peter (Mary), Geoffrey (Ginny), Christopher(predeceased, 2012) (and his surviving wife, Sheri), Kevin (Debbie), David (Marlene), Cynthia (David) and Michael (Michelle). 

 

Roth LillianROTH, Lillian Marie (Zinn)  -  Was the wife of Ervin Roth, and mother of Mike Roth and his children Chloe and Jake of Harriston, and Shawna and Marcus Leighton of Guelph.

Daughter of Mabel Zinn of Woodstock and the late Elroy Zinn, and sister of Harold and Anne Zinn of Woodstock, Sharon and Larry Ross of Bright, Norma Zinn and Darren Cooper of Woodstock, Marlene Roth of Woodstock, Wayne and Sandra Zinn of Sweaburg, Allan and Darlene Zinn of Woodstock, and Gloria and Jeff Morgan of Innerkip; and sister-in-law of Shirley and Herb Wagler of Tavistock, Mayne and Brenda Roth of Fordwich, Ed and Wanda Roth of Gorrie, and Dianne Rellinger of Listowel.

Remembered by her nieces and nephews, and their families.

 

Hurst MaryHURST, Mary Maud (nee Arnold)  -  Passed  away peacefully at Norfolk Manor, Guelph on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 90. 

Loved mother of Charles Hurst, Victoria BC; grandmother of Marla Deptuch of Saskatoon, SK, and Darren Close of Kimberley BC; great grandmother of Marlanis, Zachery, Nicholas and Jarrod Deptuch and Dryden and Aiden Close. 

Mary will be remembered by her brother Ramon Arnold, his wife Clair, nephews Michael and David and friends from Norfolk Manor.

 

PERKINS, Ruth Velda  -  Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo.

Beloved wife of Elmer Perkins. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Susan), Kevin, Brent (Rusty) and Tanya (Mark Hicks). Wonderful nana/grandma to eight grandchildren.

Survived by her sister Vivian Gibson. Predeceased by her brother Manly Gibson.

 

LOSEREIT, Heinrich 'Henry'  -  The Lord brought to us a wonderful man on June 30, 1938, 79 years to the day, the Lord called him home. Henry passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on his 79th birthday on Friday June 30, 2017. 

Loving father to Diana Althoefer (Marc) and Sylvia Gottschalk (Steve). Cherished grandfather to Lina Althoefer. Fondly missed by his grand dogs Mishka and Flame Gottschalk. 

Henry will be remembered as a hardworking contractor who proudly owned and operated Losereit Limited drywall and acoustics for many years. Also a member of the Concordia Club and the German Canadian Business and Professional Association.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving father of David, James and Mark.

Dear brother of Helen, Diane and the late Donald. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

 

Walker KeithWALKER, Keith James  -  Passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday, June 29, 2017.

Keith James Walker, age 62 years, was the beloved husband of 38 years to Pauline (Maude) Walker.

He was the loving father of Christopher and his wife Tara , and of the late Terri-Lyn (2015). Keith was the proud grandfather of Kaitlyn, and Dillynn.

He was the dear brother of Donnie and his wife Dorothy, Frank and his wife Nikki, and of Judy Hebert and her husband Bruce. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Keith was the dear son-in-law of Jean Maude, and brother-in-law of Ken Maude, Jim Maude and his wife Tracy, and the late Charles Maude.

 

HNATIW, Mervin Harry  -  (October 21, 1947 - June 29, 2017)  -  Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Mervin was born in St. Catherine’s, and he was raised in Humboldt Saskatchewan.

Mervin was predeceased by his parents Annie and Joe, and his sisters Elsie, Adeline and Sally.

He was survived by his loving partner, Meribeth of 37 years.  Mervin was the beloved father of Kim and Cory.

He will be missed by his sister Verna and his brothers Steve (Liz), and Larry (Dee). Mervin will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

 

Park AustinPARK, John Austin  -  Passed away peacefully at Fairview Mennonite Home, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the age of 77. 

Loving father of Cherri Schouten (Ron), Brad Park (Rebecca), and Paul Park (Carley). Proud grandfather of Ryan, Sydney, Brayden, Ethan, Emma and Tessa. 

Lovingly remembered by brother Greig Park and sister Mary Snyder (Larry). 

 

ESSEX, Esther Stoddard  -  Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Innisfree House, Kitchener on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Esther was born in Truro, Nova Scotia 96 years ago and was the daughter of the late Scott Burgess and former Grace Ellen Stoddard. 

Esther was predeceased by her loving husband James Essex who predeceased her October 4, 2012.

Remembered by her son David Essex of Petersburg. Cherished grandmother to Russell MacKay & his wife Lisa of Burnaby, B.C., Kelly Wagner and Jennifer Wagner both of Waterloo and Scott Wagner of Kitchener. Beloved wife of the late Charles 'Chuck' McPhee.

Jean (Van de Ven) Rooyakkers, in her 91st year, was the beloved wife of the late Henricus Gerardus (Harry) Rooyakkers (1990).

She was the dear mother of the late Tony and his wife Joan, Jane Cater and her husband Chuck, Geraldine Copeland and her husband William, the late Adrian, Helen Conway and her husband Randy, Harry and his wife Cynthia, and Ann Thomson and her husband Scott. Jean was the proud grandmother of 15 graandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
