STEWART, Gwendoline 'Gwen' (nee Scott)  -  Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre on Monday, November 27, 2017, at the age of 81. Born in Northern Ireland to Robert and Ellen Scott.

Beloved wife of the late Robin Stewart (1988). Loved mother of Ellen (Trevor). Cherished Nana of Isabel. 

Dear sister of Pearl (Alan) and the late Robert (Joy). Will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews John, Kerry, the late Jeremy, Tara, Aiden, Miles and their families, as well as extended many family members and friends.

 

Millar LaurettaMILLAR, Lauretta Jean Millar (nee Emslie)  –   Was born March 8th, 1921, the only child of Ernest and Mary Edith Ella; (nee Sheridan) Emslie. She spent most of her life around Guelph and area, and was best known by her middle name Jean. She attended school in Guelph and graduated high school and secretarial college. In her younger years she lived on College Heights, near the Agricultural College as her dad worked there in the area of animal husbandry. 

She married Gil Hammond on November 6, 1943 during the war. Her wedding dress was sewn by her mother and herself, out of silk. Gil who was in the army was able to get a well-used discarded parachute that became her wedding dress. After the war Jean and Gil moved to a small farm near Aberfoyle with some assistance from the government due to his war service overseas.

 

D’ARCHI, Joshua Michael  -  Passed away suddenly on November 27, 2017 at the age of 22.

Loving son of Michael and Darlene D’Archi of Belwood. He was the protector of his dear sister Becca. Cherished grandson of Mike and Rose D’Archi of Fergus and Diane Bragdon of Wasaga Beach. Forever loved by his girlfriend BreAnna Walter and her family.

Josh will be remembered by Aunt Elaine(David), Uncles Richard(Deanna), Anthony(Amanda) and Karlo and their families. Josh will be forever missed by his extended family Dan and Helen Gadomski, Rob and Tammy Campbell, Phil and Alaina Lewis, Wayne and Janet Lewis and all their families. Missing Josh is his best friend Tim Kerr and many others. King Louie is lost without you.

 

James DianaJAMES, Diana  -  It is with a great deal of sadness that the James Family announces the passing of our dear Diana on Monday, November 27, 2017. She lit up our lives and touched everyone, brightening up their world. Surely to be missed, but never to be forgotten.

Born in Hamilton, Diana was the daughter of Jack and Pearl Matthews. She cherished spending time with her husband Al, children Karen and Cheryl, sister Katherine and grandchildren Kyla and Evan.

Diana worked as a secretary at Willow Road Public School in Guelph for 24 years.

Marshall DonaldMARSHALL, Donald Hicks  -  Passed away with his loving wife Jean by his side at the KW Grand River Hospital.

Beloved husband of Jean for 29 years. 

He is survived by his daughters Anne Marshall, Karen Vacik, step-father of Peter, Ann Marie (Stewart Pellat) and grandfather to three grandchildren. He is survived by siblings Allan Marshall (Kathleen) and Margaret (Don McFarlane).

He is predeceased by his first wife Katherine and their son Andrew, parents Robert and Margaret Marshall and brother Robert Marshall.

 

Bell CecilBELL, Cecil  -  Of Waterloo, passed away peacefully at The Village of University Gates, Waterloo on Sunday, November 26, 2017 after living a wonderful 99 years!

Cec, as he was known, was born in a farmhouse just south of Stayner, Ontario, on March 13, 1918 to Ernest and Jennie Bell. Survived by Sylvia Bell (Purdy), his loving wife of 74 years and their two sons, Don and Rick, four grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, Trevor and Bronwyn and a recent great-granddaughter, Taylor.

After serving his country with the R.C.A.F. in WWII, he continued his 43 year banking career with the T.D. Bank.

Born in Windsor Mills, Quebec, son of Claire and Gerald, Michel lived a life like no other. He was a man of passions: guitar, fishing and Portage. He touched souls and transformed lives with his therapeutic skills, music and personality. He was a man of loyalty, honesty and family, who cared about everyone and everything. Especially travel and Les Canadiens. Michel could light up a room. And he could ignite or put out a fire. Michel loved and inspired love in so many.

BLAIR, Marilyn Helen  -  Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the age of 62.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held at Wall-Custance funeral home, Guelph, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.  

 

Baer BerniceBAER, Bernice Ella  -  Of Cambridge passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 at the age of 87. 

Bernice was born in Galt, Ontario on March 31, 1930, the only child of the late Elton Baer (1986) and Jane (Marshall) Baer (2000). She resided with her parents on a farm near New Dundee until 1956 when she and her parents moved to Roseville. 

Bernice was employed as an Executive Secretary for 47 years by Economical Mutual Insurance Company in Kitchener, from where she retired in 1995. She was a member of the New Dundee and Roseville United Brethren Churches and the Women's Missionary Fellowship for many years. 

 

Clapham PeterCLAPHAM, Peter  -  With deep sadness we announce the passing of Peter Clapham after a courageous battle with Cancer. 

Peter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou (nee Spencer), and his daughters Cori Aitchison (Alan) and Christine Howes (Steve), and predeceased by his son Christopher. Peter was the beloved Grandfather to Nicole Parker, Spencer Howes, Baylee Aitchison and Ethan Aitchison, and Great Grandpa to Alice Parker.

Born in Bradford, England with brother Phil Woodford, Peter loved soccer (Manchester United), Darts, Fishing, Garage Sales and a Big English Breakfast or a quick trip to Farm Boy.

Jack was cherished by his wife of 49 years, Jean, and his children Bradley (Cristina) Bartholomew, James (Heather) Bartholomew and Melissa (Nathan) Roth. He was the proud Poppa of Evan, Bella & Kayla.

Jack is also survived by his sisters Delores (Wayne) Thaler and Shirley Nanson, as well as his brother Bill (Joan) Bartholomew.  He will also be greatly missed by his Wilson family 'siblings' and his many nieces and nephews.

Flood DianneFLOOD, Dianne Marie (Karges)  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dianne Marie Flood (nee Karges) on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a short and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 74. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through these past few months.

Dianne was blessed with a large and loving family. Dianne was born to the late Rita and Jerome Karges, on August 28, 1943 in Kitchener and attended St. Mary's High School. She married Len Flood on August 19, 1967 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Dianne and Len made a lifetime of memories in the KW region as members of St. Francis, St. Mark and Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Churches and as owners for many years of Len Flood Town and Country Furniture, Unique Traditions Imports and M&M Meat Shop - Erb Street Waterloo from 1990-2008. Dianne received KW's Retailer of the Year in 1999 for outstanding customer service. Many of her customers and employees became lifelong friends of the family.

Taylor BettyTAYLOR, Betty (Sanderson)  -  A warm and gentle soul died on November 25, 2017. Betty (Sanderson) Taylor, age 93 lived all of her life in Stratford.

She spent her youth dancing at the Blue Moon, bike riding, swimming in the Avon and enjoyed the simple pleasures of small town life. After the war she married our dad Ernie Taylor (deceased 1995) and devoted her life to being 'the best mom ever' to her 8 children; Karen Gastmeier (Bill), Lynda Rankin (Dave), Barb Hills (Martin), Brian Taylor (Inge), Ellen Mathie (Jim), Ruth Sickinger (Wolf), Ross Taylor (Geri), April Taylor (Edward) and family friend Philip Yielding.

Betty is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
