He was 'Hon' and devoted husband to Patricia for 48 yrs and 'My Dad' to Christina Ayre (Chris) Cheryl Paterson (Mark) and son Paul. He was a very proud 'Papa' to Isaac, Hudson, Kyra and Rowan.
Gerry was one of 7 boys and 3 girls born in Onstwedde, Netherlands to Antonius and Gezina.

He was predeceased by his parents, baby brother J. Herman and sister Siena. He leaves behind his brothers Jan (Dianne), Bennett (Betty), Tony (Jane), Herman (Pat) and Bill (Lucy) and sisters Agatha and Cornelia Schlachter (John).


SZOLLOSI, George -  With great sadness, the family announce that George passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the age of 80.

Cherished mother of Janice Marr of Paris and Patti (Ed Przychocki) of Ancaster; loving grandmother of Steven Jepma (Jess Gasewicz) of Waterdown, Jenny (Dr. Aleksandar Radan) of Goderich and Travis Marr of Paris. Great-grandmother to Milan, Vera, Stevan and Zoran Radan.

Sadly missed by her close friend Harvey Barber.


Runions JamesRUNIONS, James (Jim) Allan  -  (Q.C.)  -  (July 19, 1931 - October 19, 2017)  -  Passed away after a lengthy illness in his 87th year. Born in London, Ont. to Hazel (nee Thomson) and Arthur Dixon Runions.

As a child he travelled with his father, an Agricultural Rep., watching him introduce modern farming techniques to farmers during the Depression and War years. He enrolled at Ontario Agricultural College ('OAC') where he earned a B.Sc. in Microbiology in 1955. He trained as an Armoured Officer during school to help fund his education, and became a Lieutenant in the 11th Field Regiment Royal Canadian   Artillery. 


Land ChristopherLAND, Christopher  -  Peacefully passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in his 56th year. 

Loving son of Martyn and Brenda Land; dear brother of Julie Croteau (John) and will be fondly remembered by his nephew Jonathon and by nieces Emily and Madeline. 

Chris fought long and hard to beat Muscular Dystrophy with the love and care of his family.

Naylor WilliamNAYLOR, William (Bill)  –  Of RR3 Monkton, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 19, 2017 at the age of 90, two days after his beloved wife Ruby passed away. 

Bill was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church Monkton where he served as Clerk of Session for over 20 years. He enjoyed quilting for missions and charities, woodworking, playing cards with friends from Monkton, had a keen interest in forestry and was always trying new farming techniques. Bill was also a former caretaker of North Logan Cemetery.

Loving father of Ernie (Leslie), Beth Sorensen (Tom), Ken (Angela) and Jerry. Special grandpa of Josh, Daniel, Ben, Dana, Alexander and William.

Beloved wife of the late Clement Rouleau (2006). Dear mother of Paul Rouleau. Loving grandmother of Michelle, Laura and Melanie.

McKenzie RonMcKENZIE, Ron  -  Born September 14, 1957, in Woodstock, Ontario died suddenly October 18, 2017.

Ron’s formative years were spent in Embro, Ontario. His small town roots were always important to him. He fondly recounted his first job was at the furniture store/funeral home where he never knew if his job would entail delivering a couch or helping to pick out a casket. Ron adored sports and especially loved playing baseball. His favourite hockey team was the Boston Bruins. Despite the challenges of being a Bruins fan in Leafs’ territory, Ron persevered, in part because his cousin Johnny played for Boston, and partly to distinguish himself from the crowd.

DENYER, Joyce Eileen (nee Short)  -  Was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on May 18, 1928. She passed away on October 18, 2017. 

Her early life was shaped by living through the Great Depression and later living on the south coast of England where her community was repeatedly bombed during the Second World War. After the war, she met and married John Denyer. In 1953, their son Paul was born. During their time in England, they started and ran a successful small business. In 1956, the family moved to Canada living in Peterborough, Toronto, Montreal and later returning to Toronto. 


NEWSTEAD, Andrew  -  Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the age of 56.

He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Ruby was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Monkton where she was the church organist for many years. She enjoyed quilting for missions and charities where she developed many close friendships.  Ruby enjoyed her life on the farm, spending time walking, caring for her cats, but most of all cherished time spent with her family.

Loving husband to Pauline (nee Cooper) for 50 years.  Cherished Dad of Sari Williams-Beattie and her husband Michael Beattie and special Papa of Mikayla and Nicholas.

Dear brother-in-law of Frank Cooper and his wife Nancy, Wayne Cooper and his wife Valerie, and Elaine MacIntosh and her husband Gary.  Also survived by his Aunt Helen Drysdale. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who dearly loved him.
