THATCHER, Florence Mary (Weiler)  -  Peacefully passed away at the Grand River Hospital on Thursday April 13, 2017 in her 83rd year. 

Devoted and caring 'Mom' to Debbie (Paul) Bauman, Cynthia Dannemann, Brad Weiler, Tim Weiler, John (Wendy) Weiler, Martin Weiler,  Dave (Sherry) Weiler, Jim (Tracy) Weiler, and Jennifer (Stephen) Schreiter. 

Proud and cherished 'Grandma' to Mike, Susan, Jeff, Tammy, Kevin, Jason, Chris, Brandon, Ethan, Matthew, Ryan, Danielle, Jared, Brooke, Randy, and Jessica.  Will be sadly missed by her many great grand children.

BRUBACHER, Owen - (October 18, 2014 – April 13, 2017) - Died unexpectedly, at home, at the age of two years.

Owen was the beloved son of Clayton and Connie (Martin) Brubacher of RR 2, West Montrose. Brother of Lucille, Willis, Loretta, Julia, and Robert, all at home.

Survived by his paternal grandparents Henry and Saloma Brubacher, maternal grandfather Ibra Martin, and great-grandmothers Elvina (Mrs. Orvie) Shantz and Lydiann (Mrs. Wesley) Martin.


BRUBACHER, Harvey M. - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his residence, RR 2, West Montrose, at the age of 74 years.

Harvey Brubacher was the husband of the late Selinda (Martin) Brubacher (2014).

Father of Bertha and Elam Martin of Harriston, Erla and Abner Martin of Elmira, Edgar and Mary of Harriston, Walter and Elizabeth of West Montrose, Vera Brubacher of West Montrose, Ruth and Benjamin Weber of Gladstone, MB, Mark and Naomi of West Montrose, Clarence and Elsie of Lindsay, and Floyd and Lovina of Dunsford. Grandfather of 56 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Mosure PaulMOSURE, Paul Douglas  -  Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on April 13th, 2017 at the age 80.

Paul is predeceased by wife Rose (nee Smellie), mother Loretta, father Claude Mosure and brother Kenneth.

Survived by brothers Alan and his wife Joyce, Donald and his friend Bonnie, George and sister Doris Gilkinson and her husband James. Will be missed by his sister-in-law Myrtle Black and sister-in-law Alice Mosure. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.


Brown NettieBROWN, Nettie (nee Siemens)  -  Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Guelph General Hospital on April 13, 2017.

Predeceased by her husband Arthur H. Brown (April 10, 2012). 

Nettie was the beloved mother of James (Cheryl), Cindy (Louie) and Randy. She was the cherished grandmother to Rob, Art (Nicole), William, and April (Darren) and she will be missed by her great-grandchildren.


Moore AgnesMOORE, Agnes 'Nan' Howie Bell  -  Sadly, Nan passed away at Hilltop Manor on April 13, 2017 in her 99th year. She was born in Quebec to Quinton and Agnes Bell.

She was married to and is now reunited with her husband, Alfred Ernest Moore (1979).

Nan was employed by the ProvInce of Ontario, Criminal Court Cambridge for many years as a supervisor and later commissioned as Justice of the Peace until retirement. She enjoyed her membership at the Galt Country Club participating in curling and golf. She loved to cross country ski. She belonged to the Probus Women's Club of Cambridge and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.


Taylor MaxwellTAYLOR, Maxwell Samuel Benvie  -  It is with heavy hearts we announce that Max was granted his angel wings and called home to heaven on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Max passed away due to several medical complications at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia with family at his side.

Beloved and cherished son to Danielle and Andrew Taylor, special little brother to Brody and Nevaeh, loving grandson to Emma Jo Tambeau, Grandpa Allen Desruisseaux, Nana Sue and Wanece and Eric Taylor. Dearest nephew to Paige (Devin), Somer (Chris), Tim (Lori), Sherry (Derek), Paul and (Josh). 

Max is together again in Heaven with Annie, Stephanie and his cousin Jeff.

He will be so very missed by all of his cousins, extended family and many friends, including his Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School family.


Green EileenGREEN, Eileen Agnes (nee Murch) formerly Richard  –  It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen A. Richard Green, nee Murch. She was married to Bill Green (veteran of the Korean War) for nearly 50 years.

Her greatest joy was her sons: Jack and his wife Sandie, of Bright; Jim and his wife Sheila, of Ayr; Bruce and his wife Jocelyn, of Keswick; and Paul and his wife Heather, of Guelph. She also leaves to mourn her beloved grandchildren Mallory (Travis), David, Mike, Alex, Andrew, Katherine (Clark), Jack, Olivia, Lucie and Sophie. 

She had a lifelong friend in Marg Oldfield, of Cambridge.

Szabo SandorSZABO, Sandor  -  Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Lisaard House hospice on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the age of 81. 

Beloved husband of Lise (née Poulin) for 50 years. Loving father of Robert (Catherine Wallace), Steven and Michelle.

Sandor came to Canada in 1956 as a refugee of the Hungarian Revolution and built a wonderful life in this country. Following a Bachelor of Science at the University of Edmonton, he had many short jobs all over the country, including a memorable stint in Great Bear Lake, NWT.  He had a successful career at Uniroyal in Elmira and Guelph as a chemical engineer for over 30 years.


Wilhelm DoreenWILHELM, Doreen Elaine (nee MacKichan)  -  Doreen's blessed life ended on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

She was 'my beautiful Doreen' to Eldon, her dear husband, who passed just six months ago. Theirs was a love story of local young man meets new school teacher. Out of their union came six children: Nancy Wilhelm-Morden (Ted Morden), Laurie Rennie (Kim), Jeff Wilhelm (Patti), Jim Wilhelm (Michelle), Dianne Rath (Andy) and Dave Wilhelm (Diana).

As the years passed, her family grew to 16 grandchildren Sarah, Jessie Rose, Megan, Matthew, Jenni, Katie, Robb, Tiffany, Jacob, Mackenzie, Karly, Kyle, Aaron, Nate, Joelle and Seth and 4 great grandchildren Paisley, Evelyn, Luther and Nash.

MARTIN, Reta B.  -  Passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Lisaard House, at the age of 81 years. Her generous, patient, and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of Orvie S. Martin with whom she shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Donna (Guscoff) Vano in her 100th year, was the beloved wife of the late Stavro Vano (1971). She was the loving mother of Gerard, Dr. Alexander (Sandy) and his wife Beverley, all of Guelph and Linda and her husband Robert of Holland Landing.

Donna was the proud and loving grandmother of Andrea (Jeff), Greg (Kailea), and Julia, and the great-grandmother of Evan. She was predeceased by her sister Catherine Doneff.


Zaduk LornaZADUK, Lorna Marguerite (nee Aljoe)  -  Mrs. Lorna Zaduk, of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in her 91st year.

Lorna was born in Toronto on July 8, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Lorne and Helen Aljoe of Durham. On November 4, 1950 Lorna married William (Bill) Zaduk in Guelph. Sadly, Bill predeceased her in 2010.

Lorna is survived by her cherished sisters, Evelyn Patterson, Helen Smith, Doreen Fryer, Ada (Harry) Styles, Beatrice (Hartmut) Ridderbusch, Sharon Burgess; her sister-in-law Betty Aljoe; many nieces and nephews; and her dearest long-time friend, of 85 plus years, Edna Cape.


Keast ShawnKEAST, Shawn Lindsay  -  Passed away, suddenly, at home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. 

Shawn Keast, in his 47th year, was the loving son of the late Helen (nee Henderson) Keast (2006) and Leonard Keast. He was the dear brother of Leonard Jr. (Ann) and Todd. 

Shawn will be remembered by his nephew Christopher (Vicky), by his niece Candice (Matt Glover) and by his great-niece Kaitlyn. Shawn was the loving cousin of Cheryl Henderson.

Runge JoyceRUNGE, Joyce Katharine (Holler)  -  Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Josephs Health Centre, Guelph. Joyce was born 86 years ago in Kitchener, Ontario and was the daughter of the late Arthur Holler and former Corena Roth.

Beloved wife of John Runge who she married November 19, 1954. 

Cherished mother of Tim (Susan) Runge, Stephen Runge (Dixie Cochrane) all of Guelph.  Loving Grandmother of Jack, TJ (Tim), Samantha and Chloe. Joyce is predeceased by her son Robert Runge.


Baier NormanBAIER, Norman Leonard  -  Completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, in Guelph.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Marion A. R. Baier (nee Blair, 2016) for almost 70 years.

Norm was blessed with three sons, Bill (deceased 2013), Bruce and Brian. He will be missed by his 3 daughters-in-law, Jane (Goulding), Linda (Brown) and Susan (Bell) as well as 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
