Wheaton ShirleyWHEATON, Shirley - (Sept. 22, 1945 to March 19, 2019)

Holding fast to her Anchor, Jesus, Shirley went to her Heavenly home.

She leaves behind many loved ones to cling tightly to the same Anchor of Hope in the wake of their loss.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Mildred Wood, sisters Norma and Betty, and husband Robin. Cherished Mom and Precious Princess to Charlana, Angel (Leon), and Shandy.

Loved Grams of Karlie and Alyssa. With her Lord’s help, Shirley faced many storms, and became an anchor to countless others in her lifetime.

Always a giver, Shirley touched the hearts of her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, church family, friends, those at the Northview Day Program, neighbours, clients she cared for as a PSW, and even strangers that she helped by her generosity.

Special thanks goes to Dr. Howard Burke, for his incredible care; kind staff at the Bowmanville Hospital; all of the home care staff; Reverend Steve Sparling, his wife, Debbie, and Family Worship Centre; Northview staff; Home Hemo dialysis team; relatives, friends and neighbours.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Family Worship Centre, 1731 Bloor St. Courtice on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m.

In keeping with Shirley’s giving heart, please be an extension of the Anchor of Hope and find a way to bless someone each and every day.

And, while Shirley’s life leaves a gaping crater in the hearts of those who knew her, she longs for all to know that she is now safe, pain-free, and whole in her Heavenly Harbour.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Oshawa Senior Citizen’s Centre Northview Day Program or The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

You are invited to share valued memories and condolences online at mountlawn.ca.
