Gorman ElizabethGORMAN, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann (McLaughlin)  -    It is with broken hearts we announce the loss of Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Gorman (McLaughlin) at the age of 94 on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Beloved wife for 57 years of the late Edward (Ted) Gorman. Loving mother of Mike (Susan), Jeff (Lynn), John, Lori (Brian) and Patti (Curt).

Proud grandmother of Matt, Caitlin (Mike), Emma (Scott), Olivia (Calvin), Gavin, Meredith, Faeren and Liam and great-grandmother (GG) to Josie, Harper, Mila and Lennyn.

Betty had many interests, stayed active and was very social. She loved her bowling until this dissolved due to the pandemic but the gang kept in touch with regular luncheons. She was an avid card player, especially with her bridge buddies Elizabeth & Dianne and Ruth (predeceased).

She enjoyed reading, knitting and thrived on any type of get together. She had many lifelong friendships that she truly valued and treasured.

The support she offered to those she cared for was unmatched and she always thought of everyone else before herself. Betty will be SO missed not only by her immediate and extended family, but also by her many friends.

Her family would like to thank all the staff at both Centenary and Scarborough General Hospitals for their care and kindness. She was a model patient and she received as many thank you(s) from the staff as she gave out.

The Rehab unit actually wanted to pay her for her help in looking out for her roommates!!!

Betty was adamant she did not want any type of service and we are honouring her wishes.

If you wish in her memory you can make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospital for Sick Children or a charity of your choice.

Messages of condolence and shared memories can be left for the family by visiting  barnesmemorialfuneralhome.com.
