HOUGHTON, Edward (Ted) Raymond Houghton  -

September 25, 1942- April 25, 2024

It is with a broken heart we announce the passing of Ted Houghton (Retired 27 year Durham region Realtor).

Ted passed away peacefully with his wife Dianne, children Karen, Greg & son in law Kirk; grandchildren Kaelen and Oliver and Savanna by his side after a brief illness of COVID in his long term residence on Thursday April 25, 2024 at the age of 81.

Beloved husband to Dianne for 57 years, born in Verdun Quebec, Dianne and Ted moved to Whitby in 1983, where they made permanent roots in the Durham region.

Devoted Father to Karen and Greg, dedicated Poppa to his two grandsons, Ted's love and legacy will live on through his cherished family and friends. Some of Ted's happiest times were the years spent in the community of Wilmot Creek.

There is comfort knowing Ted is reunited with his Mom Norma, Phoebe and Jack (Dianne's parents) and brother Ronnie and Denny.

Special thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses, psw's and rehabilitation team at Hillsdale Estates.

Ted's sunny disposition, personality and smile carried on despite the dementia he bravely fought these past 5 years.

He will always be our hero, so much love and respect for the kindest soul we had the privilege to have in our lives, to know and love. Rest in Peace Our Sweet Teddy. Forever missed but never forgotten.

Honouring Ted's wishes for simplicity, no public service will be held.

Ted's ashes will be kept by the family where one day... Hopefully many many many years from now, he will reunite with the love of his life Dianne to be placed in a shared Urn and sprinkled in a location special to them.
