Di Biasi MariaDI BIASE, Maria (Pistilli) - On December 26, 2018, Maria passed away at North York General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.

Maria was a very strong, courageous and loving woman with an infectious smile. She always had a smile for everyone even in her final days when she was very ill. She will live within us forever and our love for her will never die.

Maria leaves behind her 3 children, Agostino (Rita), Nicola (Sue) and Stephany (Eric), her 6 grandchildren (Miranda, Roberto, Damian, Loreana, Nicholas and Simone) and her 2 siblings, Antonio (Anna Maria) and Vittoria. Maria is now reunited with her husband Pasquale, her beloved brother Berardino (Benny) and her parents Nicola and Rosa Pistilli.

We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the many staff members at North York General Hospital who played a very vital role in caring for our mother’s health. They travelled with us on this journey as both medical professionals and, often times, as pillars of support when circumstances were very dark. A special recognition goes to Dr. Stan Feinberg and his team of residents, especially Dr. Trevor Wood. Thanks also goes to Dr. Karen Weisz and to the entire nursing staff on 5 North. “Miss Maria” truly appreciated all your hard work and we thank-you for looking after our mother’s every need.

Visitations will be held at Bernardo Funeral Homes, Dufferin Chapel, Toronto on Thursday January 3, 2019, from 6pm-9pm and on Friday January 4, 2019, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, 2100 Jane Street, south of Wilson Avenue, Toronto on Saturday January 5, 2019, at 10:00am. Entombment will follow.

As requested by our beloved mother, in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the North York General Hospital program of your choice at: www.nygh.on.ca.
