Baker LoisBAKER, Lois Edna (nee ELSTON)  -  Born July 12, 1928, passed peacefully, at Sunnybrook Hospital, on April 27, 2024.

Known fondly as Aunt Lois to nearly 40 nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong friends. Aunt Lois was a special person; she always looked at the bright side, was quick to smile and laugh, to express empathy, and never forgot a birthday!

She always added to the fun with her witty one-liners, self- deprecating humour, and zany stories of days gone by.

Lois was ahead of her time, with her fluid use of pronouns that got her dubbed "Uncle Lois", and as a strongly independent woman, living in her own home until just weeks prior to passing.

She loved children and animals - especially horses, food and wine, sunshine and water; floating with a pool noodle was one of her signature-moves.

She was an avid reader and puzzler, devoted aunt, sister, and friend, and a hopeless romantic to the very end... "someone wonderful is just around the corner" were among her final words.

She was deeply loved and appreciated by us all, and we will miss her beautiful smile.
