BRANDT, Ulrich A. - 1929 - 2017 Surrounded by the love of his family, Ulrich passed away at age 88, on December 16, 2017 after a brief illness.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Margret (nee Grewe) of more than 62 years.
Dear father of Gordon (Andrea Bezjak) and Christine (Kerry Barnes) and most beloved grandfather of Allana, Colin, Dakota and Sierra.
Born in Germany in 1929, he came to Toronto in 1952 and started a long and productive career with the City of Toronto Parks Department, initially as a Gardener and later as a Parks Supervisor. Once settled in Canada, he brought over his beloved Margret to join him.
They married in 1955, raised two children and enjoyed 62 years of happiness, travel, friendships, sports and fitness and his love of gardening. In his later years, enjoying his time with family including his four grandchildren, gave him so much joy. He remained up to date on current events and loved discussing his many interests.
Despite medical issues in the past few years, he maintained a positive attitude and a love of life. Family is grateful to the care provided by CCAC nurses over the past years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his residence, The Donway, 1055 Don Mills Road, in "The Link" from 4 - 6 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017.
