Birrell DianeBIRRELL, Diane Mary  - September 2, 1939 - December 26, 2017

Suddenly, but peacefully after celebrating Christmas with her cherished family, Diane passed from this Earth.

She faced several years of health challenges with determination and courage, always looking ahead to the next family visit or gathering.

Diane was dedicated and devoted to her family and hers is heartbroken to have lost its beloved matriarch. Diane leaves behind her husband Tom of 36 years. They shared a passion for travel and created a lifetime of memories on their journeys together and with their family. Coming home was also a joy for Diane.

She leaves her children and their spouses, Joe-Anne McCue (Luc Lavoie), Tracy Cresswell (Glen), Leslie Motz (Ron) and Carolyn Dunn (Raymond Rutledge). She will be dearly missed by brother Warren Drumm (Debbie). Diane could not have been more proud of being Nanna to Kelly and Erin McCue and Cameron Lavoie, Caitlin and Braydon Cresswell, Bryan and Jenna Motz, Shelby and Haley Birrell and Taylor Rutledge.

She was thrilled to be a great-grandmother, GG, to Chase and Shae DaSilva. Diane was predeceased by her loving parents Joe and Marie Drumm, her sister Laurie Clifford and step-son and daughter-in-law Bill and Jen Birrell.

We are comforted in knowing that she is being reunited with those who went before her. Diane always managed a winning smile for family, friends and strangers alike. That smile and her enduring love for us is how we will always remember her.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held January 2nd at Andrews Community Funeral Centre - Bramalea Chapel, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton. Visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Chapel service at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, which Diane supported, would be appreciated.
