McMackon DavidMcMACKON, David Willson  - May 11, 1930 - December 31, 2017

David passed away peacefully at Toronto Grace Health Centre with his longtime friend at his side.

David was predeceased by his father Richard and his mother Thelma (Willson).

He is survived by his brother Richard Willson and his two nieces Bonnie and Coleen.

David, in his youth, worked eight years for Toronto Dominion Bank doing stints in Toronto, Sarnia, Sudbury and Burlington.

He then worked 29 years for St. Mary's Cement, in the accounting department. Despite his many medical problems, David considered himself very fortunate. Being fortunate he believed in giving back. He volunteered 17 years at Riverdale Hospital.

After his first heart attack he volunteered 8 years at Toronto General Hospital in the cardiac ICU. While at TGH, he was a member of the auxiliary helping raise money for the hospital. At the condo where he lived he was head of the social and gardening committee for many years.

In his spare time he looked after his father who had a stroke and his mother and aunt who lived to be 98 and 102 respectively.

A kind, caring and considerate man, he was quick with a joke or funny line and quicker with a helping hand. He was good, loyal and generous to family and friends. He was my friend. I loved him and will miss him dearly. Goodbye friend.

A Memorial Service will be held at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St., on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to one of Dave's charities - Diabetes Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, would be appreciated.
