Pape Green KimberleyPAPE-GREEN, Kimberley (Kim)  - Passed away suddenly, early on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

Born in Ottawa in 1967, she was profoundly hearing impaired from birth, but overcame this challenge to learn to speak with the help of many dedicated teachers.

She completed her B.A. from Trent University and went on to specialize in Library Science.

Throughout her career she was a powerful advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, once testifying before a Parliamentary committee that was investigating new legislation to better serve the needs of the disabled community.

Later in life she worked tirelessly on the behalf of such organizations as the Canadian Hearing Society. Kim leaves behind her heartbroken children Kendra (and wife Jess), Michael and Abe, husband Tim, sister Deborah (Jordan), brother Kendrew (Katya), father Gordon, mother-in-law Ann and nieces and nephews Daylen, Kay, Xenya, Jonah, Dahlia and Leith. The loss of her bright smile and unflagging energy is missed by all those that knew her.

There will be a visitation at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive in Newmarket on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Kim's Life will be held at the Donalda Club, 12 Bushbury Drive, Toronto, on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

In memory of Kim, donations to the Canadian Hearing Society would be appreciated.
