Beirne JohnBEIRNE, John Fintan  - Passed away on June 20, 2018.

Loving son and predeceased by Dr. Paddy and Simonne Beirne.

He will be greatly missed by his large family:

Patrick and Nora, Mike and Lorna, Daniel and Andrea, Garry and Anne, Cathy, Brian and Katherine and Paul and Anne Marie.

To his 19 nieces and nephews, their partners and children, he was their loving Unca John.

John was a proud member of IATSE Local 58, touring Canada, the U.S. and Japan with shows like "The Phantom of the Opera," "Buddy Holly" and "Jerome Robbins' Broadway", and since its opening, at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Going backstage at the National Ballet of Canada's "The Nutcracker" was a highlight of each year for his 8 nieces and his late mother Simonne.

Throughout the theatre community, he was well known, not only among his IA brothers and sisters, but also to every wardrobe person, wig person, musician, actor, singer, dancer and stage manager as the guy who makes the cheesecake.

A few times a year his kitchen would turn into a bakery, whether making delicious confections for family and friends' special occasions or his annual sale through all the green rooms of all the theaters throughout the city to raise money for charity.

A Memorial for John Beirne will be held on Wednesday, June 27. 10:00 a.m. Memorial at Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, Henry N. R. Jackman Lounge (145 Queen St. W.) 11:00 a.m. Celebration of John at Quinn's Irish Bar (98 Richmond St. W.) To honour John's memory, please consider a donation to Epilepsy Canada epilepsy.ca.

As John forever encourages us, KP SMILN.
