Byrne JohnBYRNE, John - Formally of Newtownbutler Road, Clones passed away in Toronto on Monday, July 23, 2018 in his 80th year.

Survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Jill; grandchildren, Holly and Jake; his sisters, Anne and Patricia; his nieces, Catherine, Deirdre and Clodagh; and his grand-niece, Molly; and all his many relatives and friends in Canada and Ireland.

Born in October 1938 in Dublin, Ireland to parents Matthew Byrne and Delia Lennon and raised in Clones Co Monaghan, Ireland.

He played in Dave Dixon's band for a while, left for Toronto in the mid 70s, but returned home to Clones quite often. He was a customs officer when in Ireland.

He also played at the Abbey Tavern in Dublin.

A funeral service will be held in Saint Gabriel's Parish, 670 Sheppard Avenue East, on Friday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m.
