WALKER, Carmel Alice Walker Obituary

WALKER, Carmel Alice – With family members by her side, passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day, 2015, at the remarkable age of 104.

Married 57 years to the late Harold F. Walker, who died in 1986.

Dear mother of sons Cliff (Phyllis), Bud (late Yvette) and Jerry (Frances) and daughter Joan, her dedicated caregiver for many years.

Fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A devout Catholic and proud ‘stay-at-home’ mom, she leaves countless memories of a gentle, caring and wise homemaker devoted to her family.

Carmel worked briefly as a talented hairdresser and later became lead singer in Harold’s popular band in their hometown of Kingston.

Her amazing life spanned two World Wars and the Great Depression and the arrival of the modern miracles of radio, TV, computers and space travel.

A grand old lady, Carmel will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She will rest beside her husband at Capital Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A private Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Ottawa.
