CARREIRO, Maria Francisca Carreiro

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Maria Francisca Carreiro (née Simão) on July 12, 2026, at Toronto Western Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 92.

Maria is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Alfredo Carreiro, and her loving parents, Tibério and Maria Simão.

She was the devoted and cherished mother of Leonor (John), Alfredo, Fatima (Tony), Margaret, and Emanuella (Domenic).

Maria was a proud and loving Avó, whose greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Nancy (Paul), Melissa (Vince), Jeff (Olena), Brian (Melanie), Scott (Sandra), Mark (Andrea), Ashley (Scott), Jennifer (Kyle), Matthew (Laura), Laura (Mike), Nicholas (Tiffany), Christina (Anthony), Michael (Antonella), along with her treasured great-grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life.

She was predeceased by her siblings Caetano (Conceição) and Tibério (Maria José). She is survived by her dear siblings: Georgina (António in spirit), Maria dos Anjos (José Domingos), Maria José (Manuel in spirit), Teresa (José do Carmo),  Antero (Eduarda),  Eduarda (José).

Maria will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her extended family, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith, kindness, quiet strength, endless love for her family, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Blessed with gifted hands, Maria expressed her love through the compassionate care she provided to her family and to members of her community, always giving of herself with generosity and grace. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, service, and the cherished memories she created will live on forever.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support, kind words, prayers, and acts of compassion shown during this difficult time. Your love and generosity have brought us great comfort and as our beloved mother would say “GOD BLESS YOU”.
