BABIRAK, Alex Babirak

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Alex Babirak on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home on Timber Bay Crescent, in his 57th year.

Alex was part of a close-knit family. He was predeceased by his father, Alex Babirak, in 1997; his mother, Elisabeth Babirak (née Mayer); and his sister, Elisabeth, in 2022. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Maria and Frank Mayer, and was treasured dearly by his Oma. Alex leaves behind his nieces, Amanda Bosch (Dan), Natasha, and Stephanie (Ryan); and his great-niece and great-nephews, Caydence, Kolbie, and Kayce. He also leaves behind many cousins, as well as his housemates, Dan, Shane, and Jeremy.

Alex was supported by Community Living Windsor since 2008, after spending many years at the Southwestern Regional Centre in Cedar Springs. Upon moving to Windsor, Alex lived at residences on Alexandra Drive, Lloyd George Boulevard, and, most recently, Timber Bay Crescent.

Alex was a warm and friendly gentleman who truly enjoyed being around people. He loved going shopping, playing outdoors, building with blocks, and jumping on the rebounder in his room or in the backyard. Music brought him great joy, and one of his favourite songs was Three Blind Mice. Alex also enjoyed watching television, especially reruns of the classic sitcom Seinfeld, which he liked to have playing continuously in his bedroom. Another lifelong favourite was The Price Is Right. He especially loved the years when Bob Barker hosted the show, though he also enjoyed watching later episodes hosted by Drew Carey. He even had the opportunity to attend a taping of the show at the casino.

Alex’s cheerful spirit, simple pleasures, and enthusiasm for the things he loved brought joy to those around him. He will be remembered with great affection for his warmth, gentle nature, and the happiness he found in everyday moments. He will be remembered with love and fond memories by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation in Alex’s honour will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, ON) on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 10 am until time of the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will take place a Heavenly Rest Cemetery to follow. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location.
