MARSMAN, Albert J. L.   - It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Albert J. L. Marsman, CET, on December 27, 2020, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Born in den Haag, Netherlands, Albert has survived all his 5 siblings.

He is survived by his children Jack (Lorraine), Joan (Peter), Brenda (Ian), grandchildren Vanessa, Nicholas, Philip, Ben, Kyle, Xavier, and Aidan, great-grandchildren Sienna and Keira and broader extended family including Nikki and Constance, their families and numerous nieces and nephews.

Albert was the beloved husband of Johanna Marsman who predeceased him in 2015 after 61 years of marriage.

They immigrated to Canada together in 1954 after surviving World War II.

He served his country in the army and met his future wife while assisting in the liberation of Indonesia from the Japanese occupation.

Albert and Johanna settled in Oakville in 1958.

Albert's warm personality and his great love of family and friends brought many people toward him. We will always remember his big heart, loyalty, generosity and his hard-working ethic and loving personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care of Albert.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Albert's behalf to the Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton at 905-572-6435 or www.goodshepherdcentres.ca/donate.
