BOWES, Audrey Margaret - 1929 - 2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Margaret Bowes.
She passed away peacefully, at the age of 92, in Toronto, on June 15, 2022.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Stanley Bowes.
She will be fondly remembered by many cousins and friends.
Audrey was born August 31, 1929 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She grew up in Aylsham, where she rode a horse to school, and helped her parents on the farm.
Every summer Audrey loved to visit with family in Portage La Prairie, MB and play her saxophone at the barn dances. In her early twenties, Audrey moved to Toronto where she worked as a secretary in the engineering department at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), until she retired in 1994. Music, sports and her annual pilgrimage to see family and friends were her favourite activities.
She had a smile that lit up the room, and always made others feel special. Our thanks for the wonderful care from the staff at the Millwood Retirement Home, Metro Care Services, Laura Soch, NP, Dr. Eric Wong, and the LHIN palliative care team.
Extra special appreciation is given to her caregiver, Aurelia Isla.
In keeping with Audrey's wishes, a private family service will take place at a future date.
