deceased-imgBRAND, Mervyn (Merv) George Brand - 10-Jul-1942 - 1-Sep-2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Mervyn (Merv) George Brand who left us at the age of 82 suddenly on Sunday September 1st at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was a man of immense wisdom and kindness and cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories son Marc (Julia) and son Darrell (Julie) and grandchildren Cameron (Suzanna), Matthew, Caitlin, Riley, Taylor, Josh, Hanna and Reese who will sadly miss him but lovingly remember him. He provided love and guidance to his children and found joy in being a grandparent. His personal connections were undoubtedly a source of immense happiness and fulfillment for him.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Alma Brand and wife Brenda Brand who he loved and cherished so much. His deep bond with Brenda will forever be remembered.

Merv was born on July 10, 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He had a successful and prosperous career at Ontario Power Generation as a Shift Supervisor for the Heavy Water Plant at Bruce Power Plant. He possessed an unparalleled work ethic dedicating countless hours to his profession while still finding time for his family as a priority.

He was a devoted father and husband and enjoyed coaching sports teams for his son’s. He was an avid reader, golfer and played ball in his younger years. He also enjoyed time at the legion in Port Elgin with his many friends.

Merv has left the world far too soon and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

We hope you have found your peace.

Until we meet again……
