Catherine “Cathy” Jane Cameron

1943 – November 27, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine “Cathy” Jane Cameron on November 27, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London. Cathy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff. After a cancer diagnosis in 2021 and a recent recurrence, her remaining time with us was cherished deeply.

Cathy is predeceased by her sister Wilma MacPherson and will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Fred Cameron; her children, Jena (Adrian) and Blair (Jackie); her sister Muriel Garland; her brother Blair Craven; her four grandchildren; and countless friends and family members.

Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Cathy met and married her soulmate, Fred, in Halifax. They moved to Ottawa, then Ajax, and settled in London in 1981. Cathy earned her Master of Social Work and dedicated over 20 years of her career to perinatal social work at St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, where her compassion touched countless lives.

Known for her wisdom, grace, and positivity, Cathy loved hosting loved ones in her home, traveling with Fred, and enjoying her cherished friendships, including her beloved book club of over 20 years. Her love and kindness remain an enduring legacy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Donations in Cathy’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
