CARR, Glenna Carr –

CARR, Glenna Carr – Glenna died July 2, 2024, in Owen Sound, following an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

With her was her loving husband of 50 years, Alan Gordon.

She leaves behind Alan’s children, Bruce, Catharine and Ian; and his eight grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Cassie and Franci.

Glenna was a pioneer woman in the Ontario government, serving as Deputy Minister of Management Board of Cabinet, of Consumer and Commercial Relations and of Skills Development and Training. Her extensive post government board experience included being Chair of Atomic Energy of Canada, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority , Sheridan College and Wilfred Laurier University.

Her warmth extended to her many deep friendships and to the innumerable young women she mentored. Her illness robbed her of a fulfilling retirement, but her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the broader public benefits of her professional leadership.
