Spies ClaireSPIES, Claire (née Gagné) - Born September 15, 1934 in Montreal, passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on October 23, 2018.

Beloved wife of Klaus Spies.

Amazing mother of Isabelle (Peter) and Eric (Aruna).

Loving grandmother of Eric and Ryan Schwenger and Sophie Spears.

Cherished sister of Marie-Ange, Paul and Lucille and pre-deceased by her brother Michel.

She will also be missed by her many nephews and nieces.

Claire overcame many obstacles to achieve her dream of becoming an R.N. in order to help alleviate human suffering. She always gave of herself selflessly, always ready to help anyone who needed it.

She was a voracious reader in French and English, loved painting flowers and landscapes, while listening to classical music and French chansons. She was an avid golfer and bowler and particularly loved her annual fishing trip to Quebec. For many years she travelled to many parts of the world with her husband.

Visitation from 12pm until time of Memorial  Service at 1pm on Monday October 29, 2018 in the chapel of the Dixon - Garland Funeral Home, Markham.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
