Joan Lydia Cook

Passed Away on 5-Jan-2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Lydia Cook on January 5, 2025, at the age of 97. Joan was the loving wife of Norman Cook (deceased-2013) and much-loved mother to William and Robert (Irene). She was a proud Grandmother to Jordan and Taylor (Justin) and Great Grandmother to Remy and Weslie.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Oshawa and a lifelong member of St. Stephens United Church until its closing in 2022, at which time she joined Columbus Community United Church. Joan will be fondly remembered for her volunteer work, her wisdom, kindness, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire us.

Special thanks to her niece, Roberta Nesbitt, best friend Joan Buchanan, and the staff at AgeCare Samac.

A memorial service will be held at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with an hour of visitation prior to the service.

Please take a moment to sign the online guestbook and share your condolences with her loved ones. Donations in memory of Joan to Columbus Community United Church would be appreciated.

Condolences from Family and Friends

POSTED BY Jackie (McAdam) Petre
Sincere condolences to Bill and Bobby and all of Joan’s family. Joan was a great neighbour and friend to our Mom (Kit McAdam). We grew up on Eastwood Avenue and as kids we were blessed to live in such a close, safe, and fun environment! My sister and I both babysat Bill and Bobby. Joan will be missed.

POSTED BY Darlene & Fred Cook
Aunt Joan was truly a blessing to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Such a faithful lady. She is resting in the arms of the angels. She will truly be missed.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME.
