COX, Sheila Anne Cox - 23-Oct-1946 - 1-Oct-2024

It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Sheila Anne Cox (Pagnutty) on October 1, 2024 after a hard battle with cancer.
Sheila is predeceased in death by her husband, Bob, Loving mother to Meredith (Chris), Stephanie, Julia (Sam). Dedicated and loving Grandma to Jamie, Dahlia, Will, Gavin, Ellie, Celeste and Matt. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Dolores and Lesley and Sister-in-Law Joanne as well as her many nieces, nephews and long time friends.

Growing up in Etobicoke Sheila attended Alderwood Collegiate and then went onto Atkinson school of nursing at Toronto Western Hospital. It was while nursing that she met her future husband and love of her life, Bob Cox who was studying to be a Dentist.
Sheila and Bob settled in Oshawa and spent the next 53 years raising a family and doting on their 7 beloved Grandchildren.

Sheila retired from nursing to focus on raising her family and in that time worked as an Educational Assistant in Oshawa schools where she was viewed as a dedicated and well loved member of the school community.
In retirement, Sheila and Bob loved to travel with their friends and saw many different parts of the world. Sheila’s most loved trips were to England to visit her oldest daughter and family.
Sheila always had a passion for music as a pianist and vocalist. She was an active member of her community and church.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held for Sheila on Saturday October 19, 2024 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home in Whitby from 1-4pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at www.mountlawn.ca.

Love each other, for my sake.
For those you love don’t go away.
They walk beside you every day.
