Florence Josephine Crowder-Kelley (née Goodman)
December 28, 1949 – February 21, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Florence Josephine Crowder-Kelley on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 75, after a brief illness, with family by her side.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Goodman, Florence was a loving mother to John and Jennifer Crowder, Deanna Bray, Tamara Crowder, and Susanne and Wayne Vince. She was a cherished grandmother to Evelyn, Meghan, and Alex Crowder; Wesley, Owen, Edison, and Sebastien Bray; Zane Crowder-Lord (Gianni); and Micah, Zachary, and Brittany Vince.
She was the devoted wife of Bill Kelley since 2014 and a beloved sister to Susan (Bob) Inman, Justina (Ernie) Moral, and Billy (Wendy) Goodman.
Florence worked hard as a single mother to ensure her children had all they needed. She was passionate about knitting, often contributing to charitable groups. A dedicated sports fan, she loved watching the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. She also had a deep appreciation for animals, especially cows, and enjoyed nature walks and drives.
Over the years, Florence worked at Walmart, St. Andrew’s Residence, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham, and the Chatham Daily News. In her final days, she was surrounded by her immediate family, both in person and virtually. The family extends special thanks to the medical staff at Juravinski Hospital, especially nurse David Noyes, for his kindness and care.
In keeping with her wishes, private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada or the Wellwood Cancer Resource Centre of Hamilton.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Kitching Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home.
