November 1, 1928 - October 24, 2023
Dorothy passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax at the age of 94, just one week before her 95th birthday.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Sr., after being married for 75 years.
Also predeceased by her parents Ira and Jean McNaughton, and her brothers Jack and Doug.
Beloved mother of Pam (John), Brenda, Cindy (Dave) and Frank Jr (Petra).
She was predeceased by son Garry.
She will be greatly missed by her brother Don and special former daughter-in-law Louise.
Cherished grandmother of Michelle (Ashley), Kristin, Kelsey, Jordan (Michelle), Shannon (Omar), Alea (Liam) and Steven.
Great grandmother of Joseph, Nora, Brennan, Anastasia, Connor, Keltie and Casey. She was a long time employee of Eaton’s.
Also, she belonged to the Whitby-Oshawa Walkers Club and the Modern Square Dancing Club in Blackstock for 28 years.
She was also a member of the Durham Field Naturalist Club and a long time member of Northminster United Church.
She was still an active member of the UCW (United Church Women’s Group). Dorothy will be forever remembered for her road trips, stories, love of reading, baking, socializing and chatting with friends.
The family extend their heartfelt appreciation for everyone’s kind words at this difficult time.
Visitation will take place on Monday October 30, 2023 at THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787), from 11 am until time of service in the chapel at 1 pm with burial to follow.
