FERGUSON, Dorothy Lorraine (nee Jamieson) - Born August 30, 1917 in Kingston, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, on her 100th birthday... you made it Mom!
Dorothy (aka Granny) was the beloved wife for 59 years of Douglas Neal Ferguson (predeceased 2011).
Loving and cherished mom of Kimberley Steacy (William) and Randy Ferguson (Jan Doyle). Dearly loved and appreciated every moment by her grandchildren: Cory Steacy, Gillian Steacy (Andrew Hinchey), and Ryan Steacy (Shannon); Adrian Ferguson, and Lauren Ferguson (Dean Mallen).
Great-granny to Schae & Teagan Steacy, Nathan, and Lyla Rae & Decker Mallen.
She will also be missed by her favourite Ottawa nieces and nephews and their families: Peter & Susan Stewart, John & Beate Stewart, Helen (deceased) & Harold Hoffer, and Jean (god-daughter) & Rick Williams.
Mom/Granny was kind and generous, loved all children and animals, was baker of the best ever pies and buttertarts, knitter of blue mittens, ironer of sheets, homework supervisor, book lover, and so much more.
Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Grace (O'Neill) Jamieson, and her eleven brothers and sisters.
Thank you to the kind and loving nurses, PSWs, and Recreation staff at Arbour Heights for treating Mom like their own granny.
Following Dorothy's wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service to take place at Cataraqui Cemetery, on September 7th, at 1 pm, with a reception following at Arbour Heights, 564 Tanner Drive.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kingston Humane Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted with James Reid funeral home.
