Edward Barry Dunphy

June 9, 1942 - January 14, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Edward Barry Dunphy on January 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Ed passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was predeceased by his parents and his sister. Born in Burtt’s Corner, New Brunswick, Ed moved to Ontario in 1963, where he built a wonderful life for his family. He operated a BP Service Station before dedicating 30 years of service to the Durham Board of Education. Ed was known for his kindness, generosity, and loving nature. He was a devoted husband, father, Grampie, Great-Grampie, brother, and friend.

Beloved husband of Gail, Ed was the loving father of Rick (Joanne) and Lori (Greg). He was a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren Matthew (Bonnie), Taylor (Mark), and Reilly (Adrianne), as well as his favorite grand puppy, Puddles. Ed was also the loving great-grandfather of Marlow, Opie, Tatum, Navy, and Sonny. He was a dear brother-in-law to Janet (Chris) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Known for his skill and willingness to lend a hand, he found great joy in helping his family, neighbors, and friends by building, fixing, or repairing whatever was needed. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to McEachnie Funeral Home in Ajax, Ontario.
