LAROUCHE, Pauline Gisele -  January 4, 1933 - October 25, 2015

Peacefully at Ballycliffe Nursing Home in Ajax, Ontario on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in her 83rd year, with her family by her side.

Loving Mom "Maman" of Johanne (Jim) and Mark (Roxanne).

Proud Mamie of Mark Alexandre, Melissa, Bianka and Jessica.

Sadly missed by her brother Rhéal (Jocelyne).

Predeceased by Paul Larouche, by her parents Paul Emile & Juliette and by her sister Colombe & her husband Marcel.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Ballycliffe for all their support, thoughtfulness and compassion they showed us and Mom while in their care.

Visitation will be held at Alfred Dallaire Memoria Funeral Home (2159 Boul Saint-Martin Est, Laval, Quebec) on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 10:00 - 1:00 pm.

Funeral Mass to be held at St-Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church (5443 Levesque Est, Laval, Quebec) at 1:30 pm.

Pauline will be laid to rest in St-Vincent de Paul Cemetery, (3503 Boul Levesque Est, Laval, Quebec) following the service.

BRODDY, Helena -

Surrounded by her family, Helen passed away peacefully at the Fosterbrooke Nursing Home on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Newcastle, ON. in her 87th year.

Survived by her children Jeff Denton of Toronto and Jill Lyttle of Newcastle.

Predeceased by her husband Robert Broddy and her son Jann Denton.

Lovingly remembered by her brother Patrick and her nieces, nephews and her grandchildren Christopher, and Michelle.

Helen was a long time member of Sweet Adelines and thoroughly enjoyed her work and friends at the Madoc Thrift Shop.

Helen was passionate about the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society and The Habitat for Humanity.

Special thanks to the care giving staff at Fosterbrooke and Dr. Brenna Ammons for all their support. Helen will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends especially Lori, Sylvia, Betty, and Carol.

Service will be held on Saturday October 31st in Newcastle.

Donations to the Durham Region Cancer Centre in Helen’s name would be graciously appreciated.

We lost our best friend today on Sunday, October 24th, 2015, in his 65th year. 

Beloved husband to Cathy for 40 years. 

Proud Dad to Brian and his wife Traci and Ian and his wife Nicole. 

Adored by his grandsons Kayne and Blake. 

Predeceased by his parents John and Irene Witruk and his parents-in-law John and Mary Hutton.

Terry leaves behind many in-laws, nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

He was a proud member of Local 787. 

Terry was a dedicated coach, master diver, pilot and avid traveller.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa - Cancer Centre for their compassion and support. 

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, October 28 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

Entered into rest suddenly at his home in Sunderland on Saturday, October 24th, 2015.

Ted Georgiadis, in his 72nd year, was the beloved husband of the late Constantina Georgiadis (nee Kaperonis). Loving father of Helen (Eddy) Turbian and Roula Georgiadis and her fiance` Chad Cortese.

Dear grand father of two grandchildren Darius and Emma Turbian.

Survived by one brother Ioannis (Jean) Georgiadis and his wife Marietta and one sister Irene Anastassiou and her husband Tom. Predeceased by siblings Tasos, Argiroula and Ioannis Georgiadis and Triantafilos Triantafylou.

Dearly remembered by neices and nephews Toli Anastassiou & Renu Persaud, Elena &Thomas Bundy, and Sandy & Robert Taylor.

Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home , 109 Laidlaw St. S. in Cannington on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 from 2:30 pm until time of Memorial Service at 3:30 pm.

RAE, John Wayne -   Passed away suddenly with family by his side on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at the age of 59. 

Lovingly devoted to his wife Kim. 

Proud father to Brendan and Garrett. 

Predeceased by his mother Brenda, and will be deeply missed by his father John, as well as his sister Darlene (Jim).

CHAPMAN, Christopher Chapman, Obituary

Chapman ChristopherCHAPMAN, Christopher, CM, RCA, LL.D (hon) -   

January 24, 1927 - October 24, 2015

Christopher passed away peacefully at ReachView Village long-term care facility in Uxbridge, with his devoted wife of 44 years, Barbara-Glen (nee: Kennedy), and family members at his side.

He is survived by his son Brig.-Gen (ret.) Julian Chapman (Wendy), his twin brother Francis (Penny), and four grandchildren: Christopher, Amelia, Robert and Alastair.

Christopher was predeceased by his first wife Aljean Pert, and by siblings Philippa, Howard, Robert and Sally.

He will be missed by his nieces and nephews.

Christopher was born in Toronto, the day after his twin, Francis (they were born either side of midnight), the son of distinguished Toronto architect Alfred Chapman and concert pianist Doris Chapman. He spent a year in England in the 1950s designing cars for the Ford Motor Company before returning to Canada and turning to making films.

As a filmmaker he won many awards including an Academy Award (Oscar), and an Etrog, the Canadian equivalent of the Oscar. Christopher was a writer, director, editor and cinematographer whose early films focused on nature and the environment. His first film, The Seasons, funded by Imperial Oil, won the Canadian Film of the Year in 1954.


Following cremation, a private funeral service was held.  Visitation will be at the Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, on Thursday, October 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A celebration of Christopher's life will be held in Uxbridge at Wooden Sticks Golf Club, Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. 

In memory of Christopher, and in grateful appreciation for two years of loving care, donations may be made to ReachView Village, 130 Reach Street, Uxbridge, ON L9P 1L3 

The family also expresses gratitude to Drs. Terry Bryon, Michael Damus and Arun Mather.

Grant DonaldGRANT, Donald Arthur -  It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of Donald Arthur Grant on Saturday, October 24, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Don was born on July 27, 1934 in Bolsover Ontario.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Grant (MacInnes) for 57 years.

Don was the CAO of Eldon Township for 42 years.

He was dedicated to his family, church and community.

Don is predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Rosalia and his one brother Stanley.

He was a special and loving father and father- in- law to Barry Donald and Aletha. Don was the loving grandpa of Steven (Michelle) and Amanda and proud poppa of Kepler Donald Lawrence Grant. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in- law Betty and his nephews Bradley and Randy Grant. Don will be missed deeply by his many friends.

The family will receive friends at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton, on Tuesday, October 27 from 2:00 – 4:00p.m. , 7:00 – 9:00p.m. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church Gamebridge on Wednesday, October 28 at 2:00p.m. Don will be laid to rest at South Eldon Cemetery.

The Family would appreciate memorial donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Dialysis Unit or to the building fund of Knox Church Gamebridge. Brethern of the Victoria Masonic Lodge and visiting brethren are asked to meet for a Masonic service at the funeral home, on Tuesday, October 27 at 9:00p.m

Tragically, taken too soon, as a result of an accident, on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at age 22.

GOLDHAM, Susan Jane - After a lengthy battle, fought with determination, grace and courage, Susan passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 24, 2015, at the age of 66.

Born July 19, 1949 in Toronto, Ontario, Susan was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Elinor Goldham.

Beloved mother of Erin Goodman and cherished mother-in-law of Michael Bruns. Devoted grandmother of Jesse, Lillian and Caroline Bruns. Loving sister of Barbara Loynachan (Rod) and Pat Nursey (Rick). Susan will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Leah and Ali Loynachan and her nephews Bob and Jim Nursey. Cherished niece of Ruth Miller and Thelma Platt.

 

She will be sadly missed by her longtime companion Bill Delingat and her dear friends Lois Bain, Mary Ellen Gilhooly, Waveney Hinds and Joan Krantzberg. Above all else, Susan loved her family and friends. She enjoyed a distinguished career with the Ontario Public Service, turning colleagues into friends with her intelligence, warmth and vibrant spirit.

Being a grandmother was a source of great joy and pride for her.

Susan was an ardent Rolling Stones fan, Toronto Blue Jays supporter and cat lover.

A celebration of Susan's life will be held at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club at 160 Alexandra Street, Oshawa, Ontario, on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada.
