Sjonger PeterSJONGER, Peter  - On August 6, 2018, in his 75th year.

He is survived by his loving wife Doreen (Black), daughter Rebecca Sjonger and her husband Tim Miller, and granddaughter Jane Catherine.

Dear brother of Joujke Moore (Richard), Garry Sjonger, Wilma Sjonger (Tom Berry), Harry Sjonger (Cheryl Gurnsey), Nancy Sjonger (Bob Turner), and brother-in-law of Don Black (Eva).

 

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Geert and Gepke Sjonger.

Peter was born in Friesland, The Netherlands, and came to Wolfe Island, Ontario, with his parents and sister in 1950.

After graduating from GM Engineering and Management Institute (Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan, Peter worked at General Motors for 30 years before retiring.

In accordance with Peter's wishes, there will be no service. 
Private interment will be at Mount Lawn Cemetery.

A celebration of life reception for family and friends will be held on September 15th, from 2 - 5 p.m. at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby.
