JOHNSTONE, James Denholm, QC, B.A., L.L.B., J.D. - James “Jim” Johnstone passed away peacefully on August 10, 2018 at the age of 93.
He is predeceased by his father Jimmie Johnstone (past Golf Pro at Rosedale Golf Club), mother Isabelle (nee Denholm), and brother Ian Johnstone.
Jim spent 40 years as an accomplished barrister & soliciter, holding senior positions at Canadian Acceptance Corporation and the Royal Bank.
When not working, he was out golfing with family and friends and was a founding member of Sleepy Hollow Golf & Country Club in Stouffville.
He was a devoted husband to wife Audrey Johnstone (nee Dean), and beloved father of James (Gloria), Janice, and Teri (Robin). Adored Papa to Sean, Jim, Nicole, Christopher, Iain, Bonnie and Ben, and their partners and his nine great-grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by all those who shared his love and friendship.
Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
A private service for family only was held.
