KENNEDY, Hugh Charles  - On 17 July 2018, Charles passed away at home in Oshawa at age 76.

Born and raised in Sudbury, he went on to careers in teaching elementary school, with INCO and Ontario Ministry of Labour.

Consulting work continued after retirement in the mining field. He was active with Bethel Lodge 699, Scottish Rite, Rameses and Oshawa Shrine.

As Pipe Major of the Sudbury and District Pipe Band and Rameses Shrine, his time was given instructing several generations of pipers and drummers.

This cultural contribution was his gift to the world. Predeceased by parents Hugh Lynch and Anne Alberta Kennedy (Brownlee).

Survived by sons Howard and Lee, brother David (Shelley), sisters Mildred (Gene) Zarubick, Margaret (Murray) Binch, extended family in Scotland, USA and Canada.

Service to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Oshawa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada.
