SOOD, Sudarshan Kumari - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sudarshan Sood on Friday, September 21st, 2018 at the age of 87.
She is survived by her three sons, Ajay, Hersh and Sharad, her daughter Alka and six grandchildren.
Sudarshan was born in Bahraich, India and was educated in India prior to beginning her career as a History and English teacher in Kisumu, Kenya.
At the age of 39, she arrived in Canada with her husband Rajendra and their children, settling in Calgary, Alberta where she led a successful career as an Accountant.
Sudarshan focused her efforts in raising her children following the transition from Kenya to Canada while continuing to work during the long arduous winters and hot summers in Calgary.
She was interested in following the Transcendental Meditation movement which became a lifelong interest by attending retreats and acquiring more knowledge in spiritual philosophy. In 2004, Sudarshan and her husband decided to fully retire by leaving Calgary and move to a quiet life with their children in Whitby.
She used her free time to travel and visit family in England, the US and India. In her last years, Sudarshan Sood lead a private and quiet life living with her children in Whitby.
