GIBSON, Donald Craig  - March 5, 1928 to September 27, 2018

Passed away peacefully in his 91st year.

Beloved husband to Carol, brother to Nancy McNeil (Keith d.) and Eleanor Keith (Ian).

Father to Bruce Gibson (Debbie) and Anne Gibson. Step father to Noelle Smith (Rob) and Rebecca Boyd (Glenn). Grandfather to Hilary Gibson (Dennis), Duncan Gibson (Eden) and Mackenzie Gibson.

Step grandfather to Meaghan, Bronwyn, and Sarah Smith, Graham, Ryan, and Eric Boyd. Great grandfather to Argyll Gibson.

Donald was always an active member of the communities in which he lived. In his early years he was Chairman of the SS#10 Brougham School Board and a member of the Brougham Volunteer Fire Brigade. He helped found the Pickering Township Museum and founded the Friends of Fort York. He was very proud of establishing Windreach Farm in Ashburn where he and his son raised a herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle.

Later in life his place of solace was Windreach Island in Killarney (Georgian Bay) Ontario. Throughout his life Don was a charter member of many social organizations, Pickering Hunt Club, Tomurondon Sporting & Fishing Club and most recently the Loyal, Honourable & Ancient Order of the Unicorn.

Donald lived his life to the fullest and would wish all his extended family and those whom he mentored in life all the best in their future endeavours.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00pm (visitation for one hour prior) with a reception to follow.

In memory of Donald, donations may be made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation.
