BURCH, Jean Burch - Passed away on Tuesday the 16th of October, 2018 at Lakeridge Health surrounded with love.
Born in East Whitby on 22nd December, 1924 to devoted parents Amy and Bill Hamilton.
Predeceased by her golf and curling partner and her devoted and loving Husband of 62 years Johnny.
Loving mother and mother-in-law of Mark and Donna, Craig and Susan.
Dearest sister of Eleanor Cook (Tom deceased).
Devoted grandma of Joel (Mary Moreau), Amy (Andrew), Liam (deceased), Jesse and Simon.
Proud great-grandma of Beatrice, Esther and Greta.
Jean was a member of the Oshawa Golf and Curling club golfing there for over 50 years and curling there since 1963. Her last golf game was played when she was 90. Due to her competitive spirit she was the ladies club champion and the winner of many events.
Her family wish to thank her “4 o’clock” friends, especially Ruth and Joan, for their loving support which allowed Jean to remain living independently until the end.
Her family also wishes to thank the staff of Lakeridge Health Emergency department and 6C for their kind and sensitive care of Jean during her last 3 weeks.
A private family service will take place in Oshawa.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Center.
