BARKEY, William “Edwin”  - Surrounded by the love of his family, Edwin entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, on October 24th, 2018.

Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee VanderBent) for 54 years.

Predeceased by his parents William and Hazel Barkey. Devoted father of David Barkey (Angelie), Janice Newcombe (Rodney) and Lisa Thiessen (Robert).

Loving grandfather of Mariel (Joseph), Madeline, Meredith, Megan and Solomon.

Survived by his twin brother Arthur (Valmay) and his other siblings, Paul (Kathleen), Esther (John) , Ruth (Lorne) and predeceased by Dorothea (survived by Wayne).

Fondly remembered by his family, friends and colleagues from Brock Township and Fair Havens Community Church as an entrepreneur, builder, maple syrup producer, farmer, mentor to many employees, church elder and missions supporter.

Edwin was an avid reader with a dry sense of humour and an infectious laugh.

Friends and family will be received at the Thorne Funeral Home, Laidlaw Street South on Friday November 2, between the hours of 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service at Fair Havens Community Church on Saturday November 3, at 11 am with Pastor Randy Jost officiating. Internment to follow.  

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Greater Europe Mission in Mr. Barkey’s memory.
