Simpson PeterSIMPSON, Peter RossOn December 3, 2018 Peter Ross Simpson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a two-year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Peter was born in Sudbury 67 years ago and retired from the Region of Durham’s Works Department after more than thirty years of service.

He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Doris.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Wheeler, son Darryl (Lindsay), daughter Erica (Alan) Britton, step-daughters Jennifer Wheeler (Erick Billy), Jill (John Melino), grandchildren Bennett and Hendrik, Harrison and Layla, Dexter and Owen, and Veronica, sister Cheryl MacDougall (Frank), brother David (Pat), and many loving nieces and nephews.

We have lost a wonderful caring husband, father, grandad, brother, uncle and friend.

Peter was positive to the end and was passionate about his family.

Nothing gave him more pleasure than to spend time with his children and grandchildren and to go camping, canoeing, hiking and travelling with his best friend and true love Brenda.

They enjoyed astronomy and of course listening to the CBC.

A celebration of his life will be held at DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) on Sunday, December 9thbetween 1:00 and 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations to the  CHARITY of your choice, Simcoe Hall Settlement House or Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated.
