CHATER, Robert Chater - Longtime member of the Durham County Co-Operative Lifetime member of Orono United Church Devoted member of 76 years to the Odd Fellows Lodge #436, Orono.
A lifetime hardworking farmer, Robert went out to the beautiful pasture beyond on December 17, 2018, in his 102nd year.
Beloved husband of the late Alice (nee Basnett) and the late Mary (nee McKirgan).
Loving father of Ruth McCurdy and her husband Peter Stewart. Cherished grandpa of Andrew (Janet) McCurdy, Heather McCurdy, and great grandpa of Sophie & Riley.
Predeceased by his sister Jane and brother Thomas.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville, on Friday January 11th from 12 pm – 1 pm. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will follow in the Chapel at 1 pm.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Camp Trillium (A camp for children with cancer sponsored since 1984 by the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Ontario) or to the Orono United Church.
