Crosby JeanCROSBY, Jean Marie (née Osiowy) – Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on January 3, 2019 in her 91st year, God wrapped his loving arms around our beautiful Mom, Sister, Nanny, Great-Nanny, Aunt & Friend and called her home.

She rejoins her beloved husband Everett of 64 years, daughter Mary, brothers Joseph, Henry, Louis, sister Myrtle, parents Pearl & Stanley in heaven.

Jean will be remembered with great love and affection by her children Debbie (Dave), Karen (Chris), David (Janet). Grandchildren Aaron (Carin), Carissa, Courtney (Aron), Matthew (Stephanie).

Great grandchildren Mason, Emerson, Lincoln, Liam and Addalyn. Sister Helen. Nieces Carla & Tamis, great nephew James and great niece Eden. Mom was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews from the Crosby and Wilkinson families.

Born on February 24, 1928 in Cloverleaf, Manitoba to parents Stanley Osiowy and Pearl Osiowy (nee Chura), Mom spent her childhood on the family farm with her brothers and sisters. She moved to Vancouver at the age of 15 where she met the love of her life, Everett.

Married at Holy Cross Catholic Church, they settled in Oshawa to raise their family. Rooted in the Catholic faith, she loved to be involved with events organized by the Catholic Women’s League. She generously volunteered her time at St. Vincent’s Kitchen.

Throughout her full life, Mom enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Dad. She developed many lifelong friendships through social gatherings, quilting, ceramics, exercise classes and shopping trips.

Jean loved gardening and baking. The Heart and Stroke group will miss her at their gatherings where she would often share her baked goods, including everyone’s favourite banana bread. Her greatest joy was her family. Mom cherished time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss her beautiful smile and feisty spirit at all our family gatherings.

In Jean’s later years, confined to a wheelchair and in failing health, she endured her hardships in silence with strength, courage, determination and with God always at her side.

Mom shared many of life’s lessons, including the value of honesty, integrity, hard work, faith and family. She leaves a legacy of love and laughter that will guide us throughout our lives.

The Matriarch of our family completed her journey with the dignity and grace that embraced her life. Rest in Peace, “Dearest Mom.” Thank you for your unconditional love and being the best Mom in the world. We will love and carry you in our hearts forever.
