Atwood PamelaATWOOD, Pamela Beryl (neé MacDonald)  –  Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on January 14th, 2019 in her 90th year.

Loving mother of Lyn, Janice (Miki Petkovski), Cheryl (Tom Murray), Bruce (Tania neé Calback), Barbara (Steve Burch) and Colin (Julie Hewlett).

Proud and devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren: Kristin, Natalie and Derek Atwood; Alexandra, Stefanie and Katharine Petkovski; Kate and Susie Murray; and Maddie and Sarah Burch.

Only daughter of George and Beryl (neé Somerville) MacDonald and favourite sister-in-law to Joan Atwood. Shared late-life loving relationship with Ron Perkins.

Born in Ottawa, Pam was the first member of her family to attend university and was a proud Queen’s University graduate (class of ’52 PH.E.). While juggling a family of six children, she managed to have a long and successful career as a high school Phys-ed and English teacher where she also coached Basketball, Volleyball and Track and Field teams.

A classy lady and accomplished cook, Pam frequently brought friends and family together to celebrate the memorable events and milestones of life around great dinner parties. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, playing bridge, skiing, golf and tennis, and until recently singing with her church choir.

Arrangements entrusted to  W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, Whitby.

Visitation will be held at Westminster United Church, 1850 Rossland Road East, Whitby on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 9 – 11am followed immediately by a funeral service at Westminster United Church at 11am.

Interment at Old Stone Church Cemetery, Beaverton at a later date.
