RUCH, Sheila Elizabeth Irene (nee- Neal)  -  July 2, 1929 - February 24, 2019

Sheila passed away peacefully at Port Perry Place after a lengthy battle with Father time and the various ailments he could throw at her.

Sheila was born in Wales and grew up in Britain, obtaining her university degree in arts and education before coming to Canada when she was young and becoming at various times, a wife, mother, and educator.

She worked for some time as a substitute teacher for the Durham Board of Education and then as an assistant dean at Trafalgar Castle girls' school for years before she retired in the 1990s.

She is preceded into the Great Beyond by her sisters Anne and Mary and survived by two sons, Richard in Alberta and Dave, currently in the U.S., as well as beloved nieces Anabel and Juliette in Canada and various nieces and cousins in the U.K.

A private interment will be held in the spring.

If inclined, people remembering Sheila fondly would be asked that in lieu of flowers, donations might be made to the Federation of Ontario Naturalists or the Crohns & Colitis Foundation in her memory.
