Lee DavidLEE, David  - It is with profound sadness that the family of David William Lee announce his passing on February 25th, 2019 at Ontario Shores.

David was born May 27th, 1944 in Portsmouth, England.

David suffered with heart issues from the age of 42 and valiantly fought for 30 years to stay with his be- loved wife of 54 years whom he adored Sylvia Lee (Yeo) his children Nathan and wife Margaret, Steph- anie and her significant other Robert McIntyre and Renae and husband Derek Collins.

He was the adored Papa to his grandchildren, David Eddy, Karli Eddy, Cristian Lee and his wife Nicole, Jack Collins, Natasha, Nathaniel and Dustin Lee. Great Papa to 4 year old Asher, 3 week old Keira and 16 month old Avery.

Predeceased by his parents William Lee and Lillian Lee (Kitcher) and his sister Marjorie. Survived by his 2 older sisters Sheila and Vi of Portsmouth, England as well as many family and friends both in England and Durham region where he and his wife immigrated to in 1974.

Dave worked many years in Construction and 20 years working for Telus where he met many friends who continued to be part of his life after his retirement 3 years ago. We would like to thank Dr. Hanson Lo and the staff and doctors responsible for Dave’s care in the Geriatric Transitional Unit of Ontario Shores. His transfer to the facility was a blessing to David and our family.

The care he received prior to the progression of his heart disease gave him back his dignity and he was very comfortable there. When his heart failure progressed the staff went to great lengths to ensure his comfort and that of our family. We will be eternally grateful.

In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation in Dave’s name. We would like to thank the many Dr’s and nurses over the years who were able to give us hope and pro- long Dave’s life so that he was able to witness the many blessings in his life and for us to be blessed with his presence for so much longer than we thought we would have.

The family has chosen to cremate his remains and eventually his wife Sylvia’s ashes will be added to his urn along with their wedding rings. Never to be parted.

Although there will not be a funeral a Celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 5th at DESTEFANO FUNERAL HOME, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (905) 440 3595.

Please stop by between 1pm-4pm to join us in celebrating the life of a Husband, Father, Papa, Great Papa, Brother and friend that was loved, adored, respected and cherished by us all.
