SLOAN, Kenneth David  -  of Bowmanville, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Wednesday March 20th at the age of 84.

Beloved brother of Dorothy Eaton (George), Alan Sloan (Marilyn), John Sloan and Marjorie Wilson.

Ken is fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews as well as his church “family” at Bowmanville Baptist Church.

Many thanks to the staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville and Oshawa who helped to ease his last days.

Ken served his community for many years as Office Manager for H & R Block, first in Peterborough, then in Bowmanville.

Brought up on a fruit farm in Vineland, Ken loved gardening, and shared his “green thumb” with family and church by helping with their gardens and sharing the produce of his own.

An avid cyclist, he was on his bike whenever weather would allow and enjoyed trying out new bike paths.

Cremation has taken place, and a funeral service will be held at the Bowmanville Baptist Church, 2606 Concession Rd. 3, Bowmanville, ON at 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 30th.

A private interment and celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Bowmanville Baptist Church or Bowmanville Hospital Foundation.
