Webber MargaretWEBBER, Margaret Winona Joy - (March 3rd, 1938 -April 8th, 2019) -

Margaret was born on March 3, 1938 and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Taunton Mills on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Margaret was the only daughter of the late Leopold and Winona Blanche (née Ball) Webber.

As a young child, she lived at the family farm at the corner of Rossland Road and Cochrane Street in Whitby.

A longtime resident of Whitby, Margaret was known as a beloved piano teacher, an organist and choir leader for over 35 years for St. Mark’s United Church and several other congregations.

Her lifelong dedication to music was demonstrated by her involvement with a number of local musical groups, including County Town Singers, Jubilee Choir, various church choirs and the choir of Taunton Mills. Music and her pets provided much pleasure for Margaret.

She was proud to be the first woman to be named “Honourary Rotarian”. Margaret’s jovial personality and sense of humour made her a joy to be around. She will be dearly missed by all of her relatives and friends.

Resting at  W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, with visitation on Sunday, April 14th from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark’s United Church, 201 Centre Street South, Whitby on Monday, April 15th at 1 PM.

If desired, a donation to either of Margaret’s charities of choice, Canadian Cancer Society or the Humane Society Durham Region, would be appreciated.
