STUART, James Wallace   - passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Monday, May 27th, 2019 in his 83rd year, surrounded by his family after a short battle with Asbestosis.

He was born and raised in Burntisland, Fife, Scotland and started his career in the British Merchant Navy as a first engineer where he travelled to various ports around the world before immigrating to Canada in 1959.

He had a successful career of 34 years at General Motors Canada, as a millwright.

James was predeceased by his beloved wife Frances Diane Stuart (nee Carr), his parents George and Edith Stuart (nee Maloco) and brother Frank Stuart.

James is survived by his sons Graham Stuart (Cindy) and Gordon Stuart (Trina) and daughters Elaine Stuart (Lionel) and Moira Mullin (nee Stuart) (Patrick). Dear grandfather to Alexander Salitter and Aidan Mullin. He is survived by his sister Eileen Buchanan (nee Stuart).

Loved by his brother and sister in-laws, his many nieces and nephews and friends and neighbours. We want to thank the medical team at the Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital's Critical Care Unit for their support and compassion.

A celebration of life for James will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 with visitation from 9:30-10:30 am followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 am. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memoriam to the Canadian Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Kidney Foundation of Canada.
