OLDMAN, Mary Oldman  -  December 9, 1924 - June 21, 2019 

Mary Theresa (Tess) Oldman RN , Diploma - Physiotherapy ( U of T), born December 9th 1924 (Roscommon, Ireland) passed June 21, 2019.

Predeceased by her much loved husband Robert “ Bert” Oldman, in 1992.

Mother of Robert, Thomas, James, Patrick, Rosemary,and William.

Mother in law to Donna, Judy, Janice, Bruce and Barb. Grandmother to Craig, Sarah, Kathleen, Colin, Kelleigh, Maureen, Ryan, Sean, Shannon, Johnathan, Jacqueline, Colleen, Christine, Brendan, Kaitlyn, Vanessa, Patrica and Sarah-Anne.Great -Grandmother of 36.

Aunt and Great Aunt to so many around the world. She is survived by a brother James Keigher and a sister Nora Hansberry.

Tess was trained as a Nurse during World War 2 in Birmingham England, and with Bert immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1953. She continued Nursing in Toronto and made many wonderful lifelong friends with her colleagues and fellow expat Nurses.

Tess was most proud of her family, and their commitment to education.

We wish a special thank you be shared with the Parishioners of St Theresa’s Parish, and especially Tomi ,Mike and Bridget - who remained a big part of her spiritual life.

On behalf of the family we extend a sincere thank you to Cathy and Vinusha who had acted with affection as companions to our Mother.

Thank you to the many practitioners - including the Nurses, and Dr Sandra Marcus - that provided the best of care and allowed our Mother to live out her wish to remain at home. To Mary O’Connell, Peggy Carter and Anne Brown, who all trained in Nursing at a time the world needed their strength and character. And to her life long friends; Fr. Patrick Slaney and Killackey family. Mom sends her love.

Visitation at St. Teresa's - The Shrine of the Little Flower, 2559 Kingston Rd., Scarborough ON M1M 1M1, on June 24, 2019, at 10:00 am - 11:00 am with Funeral Mass at 11:00 to 12:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to St Vincent de Paul Society (directed by her wish to New Immigrants) and / or The Spiritan Congregation.
