GIRARD, Edith June (nee Morrow)  - June 1, 1925 - June 29, 2019 

Edith passed away peacefully in her sleep at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital at 94 years of age.

Predeceased by her parents Robert and Annie Morrow, and all siblings Eunice, Edna, Doris, William, John, Raymond, Harry, Wilbert, Gideon, & Fred, mother to Paul Turner, and Adored Daughter in-law Barbara Turner and grandchildren Scott, (Sarah) Kevin, (Hilary) and great grandson Mark. 

Edith was born and raised in Norwood, Ontario.  In 1947 Edith moved to Toronto where she lived, worked, married and raised a son Paul with her husband George Turner.

After George passed away in 1974 Edith remarried to John Smith who passed in 1988, following John in 1992 Edith remarried Milton Girard unfortunately Milton passed away in 2008. 

Edith had a 40 year career with Rockwell International in Toronto supervising teams building military communications equipment for the Canadian and United States military. Edith was very proud of the work she did winning awards for zero defects years before the term was even coined.

Edith moved to Stouffville in 2013 to be closer to family where she lived until 2017 when Edith moved to Douglas Crossing in Uxbridge. Edith's final year was enjoyable at Douglas Crossing where she made many new friends including Ruth, Barb, and Angie; Edith loved her suite at Douglas Crossing.

A visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 7p.m. to 9p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1p.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Immediately following the service, interment will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Scarborough.

Donations can be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital Palliative Care.
